RUBY WALSH’S BEST BETS
13:35 Fairyhouse – Sea Of Sands (each-way)
I’m siding with Sea Of Sands as an each-way shout. He was just far too keen under William Buick in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket in October. He was rated 97 on the Flat and I liked him when he won at Listowel back in September. There’s an each-way angle there.
14:40 Fairyhouse – Lossiemouth
I’ll be shocked if Beacon Edge doesn’t make the running for Teahupoo. Lossiemouth will likely then follow behind. Teahupoo has come from behind on the last couple of occasions and Paul Townend will be on the wicker horse. He’ll be riding for speed and Jack Kennedy will be riding for stamina. I’m siding with Lossiemouth as she’ll be too quick for Teahupoo.
FRANK HICKEY’S BEST BETS
14:05 Fairyhouse – Gorgeous Tom
Gorgeous Tom probably has a bit to find to beat Firefox and Heart Wood. He’s got plenty of ability and I have doubts over the distance for Firefox. It’s a tentative pick but I might have a small go on Henry de Bromhead’s runner. He’s won three of his five runs this season and he can show improvement.
14:40 Fairyhouse – Lossiemouth
Lossiemouth is top class and I don’t think the 2m4f trip will be an issue. She should just be too quick for Teahupoo. Gordon Elliott’s runner will probably get his conditions but I’ll side with Lossiemouth.
