Just 14 horses have been declared to run in the Coral Gold Cup on Saturday, making it the smallest field to contest the Premier Handicap since 2018.
Despite the limited number of hopefuls, a standout failed to emerge in Paddy Power’s antepost market and the race has previously for throwing up big-priced winners over the years including last year’s 16/1 scorer Datsalrightgino and 33/1 Cloudy Glen in 2021.
There have been some classy winners in previous years such as Many Clouds (2014) and Native River (2016) so perhaps a star could emerge after 21 fences over 3m2f at Newbury this weekend.
Coral Gold Cup odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise key historical trends from the last 10 renewals and a tip based off the big-race stats are below.
