12:45 Ludlow – Oakley’s Way (Racing Post)
Meetmebythesea probably ran into a very good horse in his Irish point and could be too good for these. However, OAKLEY’S WAY showed more than enough in bumpers to believe he’ll do well over hurdles and, at this trip, he edges as the preference. Unleash The Beast could be capable of better than he showed in his one bumper.
13:15 Ludlow – Touchwoodexpress (The Sun)
Most of these come with risks attached, but TOUCHWOODEXPRESS has done well since switching to chasing this autumn, with a comfortable win at Huntingdon and a good second behind a well-handicapped rival at Warwick. He’s open to more progress and is a big player for a yard that won this last year. Recent Lingfield third Coconut Twist could pose the main threat, athough Watchoutitscookie showed some promise over fences in the spring, and is in the mix on his return.
14:35 Kempton – Kateira (The Scotsman)
The distance of this race reverts to 2m 5f (from 3m) for the first time since its inaugural run in 2007. Last year’s runner-up KATEIRA is up to going one better, provided she’s in top form. Pawapuri, who may still have more to offer, is feared most ahead of Della Casa Lunga.
15:10 Kempton – Es Perfecto (Spotlight – NAP)
This can go to ES PERFECTO (nap), who had a rare off day when last seen in March, but has strong chase form, and looks interesting off bottom weight in this field. Chase debutant Doddiethegreat, who drops back in class, is second choice ahead of Bourbali who is well suited by this venue.
