12:45 – Oakley’s Way
Meetmebythesea probably ran into a very good horse in his Irish point and could be too good for these. However, OAKLEY’S WAY showed more than enough in bumpers to believe he’ll do well over hurdles, and, at this trip, he edges preference. Unleash The Beast could be capable of better than he showed in his one bumper.
13:15 – Touchwood Express
Most of these come with risks attached, but TOUCHWOODEXPRESS has done well since switching to chasing this autumn, with a comfortable win at Huntingdon and a good second behind a well-handicapped rival at Warwick.
He’s open to more progress and is a big player for a yard that won this last year.
Recent Lingfield third Coconut Twist could pose the main threat, although Watchoutitscookie showed some promise over fences in the spring and is in the mix on his return.
13:45 – Bob O Rhino
It looks as though BOB O RHINO is handicapped about right, but she’s running well and just about has the least to prove of these runners. Malago Rose could be a player on her debut for Neil Mulholland, and Come On Nia has won twice already this season and goes over a trip that should suit her.
14:15 – Iontach Cheval (NAP)
El Vigaro is in the best form, but his improvement has come on good ground.
While he’s still much respected, IONTACH CHEVAL (nap) is preferred as he’s well handicapped, and his Warwick run after a break was encouraging. Belle Montrose is preferred of the others for all that she may want further in time.
14:50 – Mr Grey Sky
This looks tricky, but it might be worth siding with Kim Bailey’s front-runner, MR GREY SKY. He is back on his last winning mark and was successful on his seasonal return last November.
Dr T J Eckleburg held off a clear second when winning at Haydock on Saturday and could be a big danger if turned out quickly under a penalty. Another to watch is Fast Buck, who is well handicapped if he can rediscover his spark.
15:25 – Melton Mossy
Progressive MELTON MOSSY made it 4-7 in handicaps when staying on well to win over 2m5f here last time, and although he has different conditions to deal with today, he looks worth a try at this new trip.
The opposition pick could be Myfanwy’s Magic, who ended last season with an eye-catching second at Hereford and looks interesting back over this stiffer stamina test on his return. Brownstone and Faerie Cutlass can also have a say.
