13:15 Haydock – Josh The Boss

I’m with Josh The Boss for Nigel Twiston-Davies. The 7lb rise for his Silver Trophy handicap win at Chepstow is lenient. He’s always been thought highly of and he can show improvement after his impressive win ahead of Doyen Quest, who just won at Cheltenham.

4/1
Josh The Boss Win or Each Way

13:30 Ascot – Pic DOrhy

Pic DOrhy is the most likely winner over the 2m 5f trip and he should have too many gears for Dashel Drasher.

4/9
Pic DOrhy Win or Each Way

13:50 Haydock – Iroko (NAP)

Iroko is well in on the weights and I fancy Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero’s runner. The conditions of the race will suit him and he’s a horse with a bright future. He has solid form and he’s ahead of the handicapper. He should be hard to beat.

11/8
Iroko Win or Each Way

14:10 Punchestown – State Man

Willie Mullins has declared State Man and Lossiemouth, while Brighterdaysahead for Gordon Elliott is also in there. Officially there’s 13lbs between State Man and Lossiemouth. When you consider the mares’ allowance, the difference is 6lbs. He’s underrated and his form is head and shoulders above that of Lossiemouth and Brighterdaysahead. I just think he’ll win!

8/13
State Man Win or Each Way

14:30 Haydock – Backmersackme

Doyen Quest looks chucked in after bolting up at Cheltenham last week but it’s a short turnaround for the Skelton runner. I wouldn’t put you off backing him but Backmersackme could be a better value pick. Emmet Mullins’ runner has had a prep for this on the Flat at Thurles and his lenient mark of 125 will have left connections looking for a race with a big prize pot!

12/1
Backmersackme Win or Each Way

14:45 Ascot – Golden Ace

I’m siding with Golden Ace but my only concern is the trip. She’s very quick and hopefully she can stay. It’s not a really strong opinion but she’s the most likely winner.

2/1
Golden Ace Win or Each Way

15:05 Haydock – Ahoy Senor

Grey Dawning still has a bit to prove and Ahoy Senor comes here after the perfect preparation. He ran really well in the Old Roan at Aintree in October. That will have left him spot on for this and he could be the value pick against Grey Dawning at the top of the market.

5/1
Ahoy Senor Win or Each Way

15:20 Ascot – Sans Bruit

Sans Bruit ran well in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter earlier this month. Some of Paul Nicholls’ runners have made a major jump from their first to second starts. I’ll chance that it happens again with Sans Bruit.

7/2
Sans Bruit Win or Each Way

15:40 Haydock – Dare To Shout

I’m with Dare To Shout, who is relatively inexperienced over fences. He won at Carlisle last time out and that form has held up. He’s unexposed and he’s ran a few big races this year. The 3m 1f distance should suit too.

15/2
Dare To Shout Win or Each Way
