13:45 Cheltenham – Leader In The Park

Leader In The Park was supposed to run at Ascot but was taken out based on the ground, will likely go off favourite if they all go to post. Peaky Boy has won on his two runs at Cheltenham but I’m struggling to back Nicky Henderson runners at the moment. Leader In The Park showed plenty of ability last season and he’s made for chasing. He’s been given a lenient mark of 121 and he should be fine on the ground. He should be very hard to beat.

9/2
Leader In The Park Win or Each Way

13:55 Navan – Club Manager

Club Manager looks ready to run a big race for Gavin Cromwell. Conor Stone-Walsh effectively brings his mark down to 110 as he’s claiming 5lbs and cheekpieces are on for the first time too. That may suit and he’s run well on his two most recent starts at the Curragh and Listowel. On pedigree, he should keep improving and this could be the perfect opportunity to win.

10/1
Club Manager Win or Each Way

14:30 Navan – The Goffer (each-way)

Gordon Elliott has more than half of the field here and I like one of his outsiders The Goffer. He occasionally shapes really well, just like he did in the Ultima last year. He went off favourite but he’s not a thorough stayer and he doesn’t want longer than three miles. I’m taking a chance that first time blinkers will help. He’s a big price and he’s not a confident selection but I’ll give him one more chance!

35/1
The Goffer Win or Each Way

14:55 Cheltenham – Hymac (NAP)

I really like Harry Fry’s Hymac who is at the bottom of the weights. He won on his seasonal return at Newton Abbot in October so he’s fit and raring to go. His standout run last season was at Cheltenham in April when winning a handicap chase in really good style. He can handle a big field and he should shine despite the step up in class.

11/4
Hymac Win or Each Way

15:30 Cheltenham – Dysart Enos, Cracking Rhapsody (each-way); Black Poppy (each-way)

Dysart Enos is a fairly short price at the top of the market but connections are very sweet on her. I expect her to jump better than she did in the early stages of last season. If she had run at Cheltenham in March she probably would have won and she’d be 15lbs higher in the handicap to start this season. She’s off a mark of 131 and while I’m not mad about backing horses in handicaps at her price, she could be a good thing.

85/40
Dysart Enos Win or Each Way

Cracking Rhapsody and Black Poppy could be two each-way shouts worth keeping an eye on. They could run into the places.

Cracking Rhapsody will come on for his run at Hexham last month when finishing fourth. He showed improved form last season and he was third in the Scottish Champion Hurdle.

Black Poppy was runner up here at the October meeting last year off a mark of 129. He’s only 1lb higher and he’s very effective on the ground. He needed the run at Market Rasen in the summer and he can get back to his best form. He’s appealing to a small stake.

20/1
Cracking Rhapsody Win or Each Way

33/1
Black Poppy Win or Each Way
