16:30 – Saved Lizzie
This can go to SAVED LIZZIE, whose fortunes have taken a marked turn for the better since she went handicapping on the AW.
She needs to show she can handle Tapeta; otherwise, she should have plenty going for her. Port Noir, who was third here last night, and King Of Speed are others to consider, but perhaps Diffident Spirit can be the main danger.
17:00 – Cadarn
The expensive yearling Sueno showed promise when third on last month’s Nottingham debut, and her pedigree suggests she should relish this half-mile longer trip.
However, preference is for CADARN, who has the AW experience on the board, having only just failed to reel in a stablemate of Sueno at Newcastle on his second start, with the third horse miles behind. Clockmaker has the ability but also has something to prove, back from a break following his latest performance.
17:30 – Rogue Bullet
With the blinkers retained, ROGUE BULLET may build on his Kempton effort and go one better. Choreographic (second choice) and Mighty Ruler are interesting, having switched to handicap level, while Monomyth has possibilities back at 6f, and Final Angel is another to consider.
18:00 – Bulletin
Precision (second choice) and Northwest Passage are similar types who look open to progress.
However, solid contender BULLETIN is marginally preferred. Marhaba Ghaiyyath looks best of the newcomers.
18:30 – Penfolds Grange
Having stayed on for an encouraging third on last month’s debut over 7f at Kempton, PENFOLDS GRANGE earns the vote now up in trip.
Orchestral Wave and Tenadaay are possible improvers on their second outings, but the well-bred newcomer Quick Qudos is feared most.
19:00 – Emerald Army
Despite a high draw and 5lb penalty, Overnight Oats is still high on the list back in trip after his success over the extended 1m here on Monday.
Comedian Leader is running well enough to be considered, but the choice is EMERALD ARMY, just 2lb higher than when getting off the mark on AW debut at Southwell last month, and who may still have more to offer on this surface.
Noble Consort, 2l behind him at Southwell and 3lb better off, ought to be thereabouts.
19:30 – Call Glory
Off a very handy mark returned to 6f on his third start for Ian Williams, CALL GLORY looks particularly interesting.
Zu Run (second choice) holds solid claims in his current form, while Willolarupi and Bibendum also look shortlist material.
20:00 – Master Of Combat
The George Boughey pair Koy Koy, and Timeless Charm are worth a second look, while dual course winner Asgard’s Captain makes the shortlist on his return, being proven fresh.
King’s Code, another dual course winner, has dropped to an attractive mark, but the vote goes to MASTER OF COMBAT, 3lb higher than when gaining his fourth-course success last time, but who remains favourably treated on previous form.
20:30 – Star Time (NAP)
Alan King’s STAR TIME (nap) stands out as an unexposed sort in this line-up, and he can make a winning handicap debut.
Eagle’s Realm did well at a similar time last year and rates a danger after his back-to-form second at Southwell a fortnight ago.
It would also come as no surprise to see Tortured Soul leave his recent efforts behind now back on AW.
