12:35 My Noble Lord

One that really stands out is MY NOBLE LORD, who was an impressive winner at Chepstow when very well backed. He looks like he has a huge engine, and while his jumping was novice-y, he could have improved plenty. He could prove hard to beat now.

11/2
My Noble Lord Win or Each Way

13:10 – The Newest One

The Newest One was very good last time, winning a similar event over course and distance.

That was his first start over fences for nearly two years, and he races prominently, which is a massive bonus the way races in the UK are run these days. It seems to be always impossible, barring a pace collapse, to come from behind in these big field races, given the whip rules now.

The form hasn’t been tested yet, but he looked to have loads left in the tank, and a rise of 5 lbs still gives him a massive chance to back up that performance.

11/2
The Newest One Win or Each Way

13:45 Leau Du Sud

LEAU DU SUD stands out on form and was impressive on debut when winning at Stratford. The drier ground mightn’t be ideal, but I expect him to win.

5/6
Leau Du Sud Win or Each Way

14:20 Imagine (NAP)

The Paddy Power Gold Cup looks like a cracking renewal, and Ginny’s Destiny is short enough in the market, so I’ll plump with IMAGINE, a very good hurdler for Gordon Elliott. He’s still only six years old, and his form in Ireland is really good. There’s a lot to like. He’s my best bet of the day off a mark of 154.

7/1
Imagine Win or Each Way

14:55 Doyen Quest

DOYEN QUEST is just too consistent to ignore as his form for connections reads 1 2 1 1 2 in his last five starts. He was beaten at Chepstow on season debut but the third and sixth have won subsequently. He looks the one to beat.

15/8
Doyen Quest Win or Each Way

15:30 Hamsiyann

HAMSIYANN hasn’t won despite being backed to do so many times. He has good form on the Flat and could be well handicapped over hurdles based on that rating. There’s been plenty of market support for him again.

9/4
Hamsiyann Win or Each Way
