DUBAI HONOUR is at the top of the market for a reason, with an official rating of 118. He’s going to have to underperform to get beaten.
He already has a 50 per cent strike rate on the all-weather, and he can up the Aunty again to make it an impressive two from three on a synthetic.
15:48 Newcastle – Saint Lawrence (each-way)
SAINT LAWRENCE is a huge price based on some of his solid Group One form. He also ran a cracker when lumping a considerable weight over in Ireland last time.
He runs on a synthetic for the first time, and the 6f test will suit his late running style perfectly. He will be rattling home late under Paul Mulrennan.
17:48 Newcastle – Jewel Maker
JEWEL MAKER bounced back to form last time over this course and distance. Although his handicap rating has risen 5 lb, he is still a bit below his peak rating.
With a smallish field assembled, his hold-up tactics will mean he’s not giving away too much ground from the get go. He can go back-to-back at a venue he loves.
19:00 Wolverhampton – Mashaan
MASHAAN has returned to a stable that got a decent tune out of him from considerably higher in the handicap, winning twice off 60 and 65, and now sits perched on a very lenient-looking 49.
Last time was a perfect opportunity to blow away the cobwebs off a lengthy absence, and he looks prime to go well from the middle starting position.
19:30 Wolverhampton – Bibendum
BIBENDUM ran a stormer up at Newcastle over the minimum behind a very well-handicapped Strong Johnson. He gets the additional cheekpieces added to the tongue tie for extra focus, and he can now get his head in front for the first time on his 11th start.
He hasn’t been with the team that long and can make his presence felt in this Class 5 company.
