12:20 Monopolise
MONOPOLISE showed more encouraging signs over this course and distance last time, his first run after a seven-week break, and he’s fallen to a very appealing mark so, with a tongue tie on, he makes the most appeal down in grade on just his fourth start for this yard. Johnjay has also looked back in form lately and he’s considered a danger along with Solanna.
12:50 Santorini Star
SANTORINI STAR cost 290,000 guineas as a yearling and she shaped with plenty of promise on her debut over this trip at Southwell 18 days ago. That was just a three-runner race, but there was no shame in not being able to live with the potentially smart winner who had the benefit of experience, and she looks a sure-fire improver now with that run under her belt.
Dubai Beach was too green to do herself justice on debut a year ago, and can be expected to do a lot better, but she has plenty to find with the selection.
13:20 Bedouin Prince
Those with experience don’t set the bar that high so the suggestion is Godolphin debutant BEDOUIN PRINCE, who is well bred and represents a stable with an excellent stike rate at this track. Confidence in his chance would be increased should the betting vibes be strong.
Aurel is another newcomer who looks the part on paper, while his stablemate Dissident could leave his Newbury debut run behind. The Richard Hughes-trained Family Knight also makes the shortlist after quite an encouraging debut effort over course and distance last month.
13:50 Mums Tipple
A good-quality handicap with lots to consider. MUMS TIPPLE failed to fire on turf this season but his record on the all-weather is a much more compelling one, and the assessor has given him a chance back on his favoured surface.
Brewing is another interesting proposition back on an artificial surface, while three-year-old Heathcliff may not yet have finished improving.
14:20 Penzance
PENZANCE improved at a rate of knots on the all-weather upon joining these connections just under a year ago, and the return to this surface may just prove the catalyst for further success having not really fired on turf so far this season.
Military Academy is quickly making up for lost time and is the one in the lineup with the potential to rate much higher. Aimeric is established at this level, so it commands respect, too.
14:57 The Glen Rovers
THE GLEN ROVERS is taking on battle-hardened handicappers now, but he’s a lightly-raced five-year-old who is on the up and at the foot of the weights, who may have more to offer and looks the answer to this series final.
Oslo caught the eye in September so needs considering back on the level, with Magico also of interest given he defends an unbeaten Kempton record.
15:32 Fullforward
This looks open with FULLFORWARD getting the tentative nod back on his correct mark returned to a more suitable trip. He was 2 lb wrong at the weights under a penalty at Brighton last month but left the impression he’s still in top form. Stablemates Torbellino and Pablo Prince occupied the first sports in a course and distance handicap recently and head the opposition, ahead of Starfighter.
16:02 Bell Shot
BELL SHOT has a poor run to bounce back from, but he’s consistent in the main, and the make-up of this race looks ideal for him, so he’s preferred to the in-form Bigbertiebassett. Arctician is also a player.
