21:45 – Whistlejacket (each-way)

It’s the calm before the storm as far as the Breeders’ Cup is concerned, with five races for youngsters on Friday night and all shown live on Sky Sports Racing. This is the Grade 1 Juvenile Turf Sprint over 5f.

Ecoro Sieg is interesting for Japan, but the one I like each-way is WHISTLEJACKET for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. It’s been a long time since my selection went over the minimum trip and this is a very fast 5f, but Whistlejacket brings class to the table.

He’s already a Group 1 winner in the Morny at Deauville and was far from disgraced behind Shadow of Light in the Group 1 Middle Park. I’m sure he’ll love the fast ground and I suspect he’ll be finishing off stronger than most. He’s too big in the betting for his class.

Whistlejacket Win or Each Way

22:25 – Immersive

Now the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies on the dirt over an extended 1m. A bit dull, I know, but it has to be IMMERSIVE for Brad Cox and Manuel Franco.

The Godolphin youngster has banged in three on the bounce, including the Grade 1 Spinaway at Saratoga and the Grade 1 Alcibiades at Keeneland, which was over a slightly longer trip than this and shows she stays strong. She has a great draw in 3 and will be hard to stop.

9/4
Immersive Win or Each Way

23:05 – Lake Victoria / Heavens Gate (each-way)

This could benefit the Europeans in the Grade 1 Juvenile Fillies’ Turf over 1m. This game is not rocket science and LAKE VICTORIA, who was strongly in the market for the 2025 1000 Guineas, should take all the beating from the inside stall.

Connections swerved the Fillies’ Mile as that would have been more of a test than the trip at this track and would have come on the back of her victory over 6f in the Cheveley Park. She’s already won over 7f in the Group 1 Moyglare, which should be for the taking.

Many think her stable companion, HEAVENS GATE, will be a threat and some will be happy to chance her each-way. But it has to be Lake Victoria to score.

Lake Victoria Win or Each Way

11/1
Heavens Gate Win or Each Way

23:45 – Chancer McPatrick (each-way)

Back on the dirt now for the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. East Avenue is all the rage, but I like the powerful CHANCER MCPATRICK for Chad Brown and Flavien Prat.

The unbeaten colt has been closing well to score, including in the 7f Grade 1 Hopeful at Saratoga and Grade 1 Champagne over 1m at Aqueduct. Closing in is not usually suitable for this track, but I suspect there will be plenty of pace, so I’ll take the chance. He might be an each-way price as well.

10/3
Chancer Mcpatrick Win or Each Way

00:25 – Aomori City (each-way)

Finally, on Friday/Saturday, the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on turf. New Century is a horse I love and he can easily score for Oisin Murphy. That said, the each-way bet for me is AOMORI CITY for William Buick and Charlie Appleby.

He is lightly raced with just four runs to his name. He looked a fine beast in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood but was firmly put in his place by Scorthy Champ in the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh.

He looked in need of further that day and this is a tight mile, but I think there is more to come. His draw could have been better as out wide in 12, but he has place claims, at least.

13/2
Aomori City Win or Each Way

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me, Paddy?
