13:15 – Ambiente Amigo

AMBIENTE AMIGO ran in the Fillies’ Mile as a juvenile on the Flat and has developed into a useful performer this season. She’s therefore an interesting runner, now switched to hurdles, representing a yard that has such a good record. She should prove hard to beat granted a clear round. Fine Margin showed ability on his recent debut over hurdles at Sedgefield and may be the one for the forecast.

13:45 – Skyjack Hijack

SKYJACK HIJACK has thrived since entering handicaps and he’s hard to oppose in this field. He opened his account at Cartmel in August, and has won on his last two starts at Perth and Aintree, by a combined 28 lengths. He confirmed himself as a strong stayer on Sunday, stretching away in the closing stages and, given he is able to race from the same mark now, he will take all the beating provided this doesn’t come too soon. Jeteye appeals as the one to chase home Jennie Candlish’s improver ahead of Steps Match.

14:15 – Sayva

SAYVA offered little on his debut, but proved a different proposition  opening his account in a bumper at Bangor in June, reacting well to a positive ride and he and the runner-up pulled clear of the remainder. He also made an encouraging start over hurdles, after a short break at Sedgefield earlier this month, leaving the impression the experience won’t be lost on him and he’s one of the more likely types on the back of that. Iorangi de L’Isle, who sets the standard at this point, is feared most, while Devon Skies isn’t without hope.

14:45 – Flic Ou Voyou

The vote in this trappy-looking contest goes to FLIC OU VOYOU, who proved his Uttoxeter effort in July (dead-heated at odds of 66/1 but subsequently demoted to second) was no flash in the pan in going close at Kelso last time. He remains well-handicapped, based on his exploits when in the care of Paul Nicholls, and has conditions in his favour. There was much to like about the chase debut success of Boomslang and he is feared most ahead of Coqolino.

15:15 – Chicago Gal

CHICAGO GAL shaped as if back in form on her most recent outing on the Flat and, given she returns to this sphere just 1 lb above her last winning mark, she gets the tentative vote to notch a second win over hurdles. Purple Gown isn’t straightforward but potentially has a bit more to offer as a hurdler, especially when the emphasis is on speed, while Cawthorne Cracker had the race at his mercy when coming to grief at the last at Sedgefield just over 3 weeks ago and warrants plenty of respect, also.

15:45 – Jimli’s Island

JIMLI’S ISLAND made a very bright start on joining this yard in the summer, winning his first two starts, a handicap chase and a handicap hurdle, both at this sort of trip at Perth. He lost little in defeat over fences when runner-up at Hexham this month and the return to a longer trip will help. Chemical Warfare and Ginger Pointe rate as the principal dangers.

16:15 – City Of Diamonds

The ones with experience don’t set an exacting standard, so this can go to a newcomer, with CITY OF DIAMONDS selected over Kids Say Lastgojoe and Travis Wheatley. He was just a cheap purchase last year, but finished runner-up on his only start in Irish points, and represents a yard that have plenty of winners in this sphere.
