There isn’t much between the leading form contenders on these terms. The percentage call goes to THINK OF A NAME, who benefited from a drop to 5f last time and may show further progress.
Force And Valour, who ran creditably here last month, is second choice ahead of consistent Bacor and last-time eyecatcher So Darn Hot. It’s also hard to rule out Fair Call, who may improve. The market signals should be heeded regarding newcomer Corolla Point, who brings both positives and negatives.
15:53 Exeter – High Game Royal (Racing Post)
When last seen in March, he was out of form, but HIGH GAME ROYAL looked promising over fences last autumn. He is given the vote in the hope that he can get his career back on track.
Tap N Go Leo had an excuse when flopping badly on his handicap debut in March and retains significant potential. Ballymagroarty Boy and Earth King might also feature.
17:03 Exeter – Rehill Relic (Racing Post)
Catboy has obvious claims after his all-the-way Fontwell win, but it will not be easy to dominate this field off an 8lb rise. Sassified enters calculations off a workable mark if the blinkers are a positive addition, with Lusaka (second choice) another to consider now reverting to hurdles after a recent win on the Flat.
However, the suspicion is that point winner REHILL RELIC will have more to come over this longer trip, now switching to handicaps with a top amateur in the saddle.
17:55 Newcastle – Badri (Morning Star)
Londoner dropped a strong hint that he’s ready to exploit some help from the handicapper when running on strongly for second over 6f here 19 days and has possibilities if this drop back to 5f suits.
However, the suggestion is BADRI, who did not have the race to suit his patient tactics when midfield in a good Ascot handicap this month and returns to Tapeta on a good mark. Cover Point and Lucky Man also make the shortlist.
