13:50 – Finsceal Luas
A weak maiden for the venue and seemingly the best chance yet for the superbly-bred FINSCEAL LUAS to get a winning bracket. Molto Amichi rates a threat on a promising recent debut run over this trip, while Duchess Wannabe is a potential improver and debutant Woodlander is worth a market check.
14:25 – Power Under Me
Winner of this race in 2022, POWER UNDER ME showed himself to be in fine fettle at Tipperary recently and, on his favoured soft ground, can gain an eighth career win here.
Norwalk Havoc steps outside of handicap company for the first time and could emerge as the main threat, while others with place claims are Atlantic Coast and Bright Stripes.
15:00 – Alessia Fernanda
Competitive, with many eyes on the Listowel handicap in which Global Energy beat Orandi and Monasterboice, the second there fancied to come out best here with a 10lb claimer now aboard.
However, the trio could be usurped here by bottom-weight ALESSIA FERNANDA, who appeared very unlucky at the Curragh last time and could return to the winners’ enclosure.
15:35 – Fleur De Chine
Nine of the last ten renewals have gone to three-year-olds and FLEUR DE CHINE is taken to continue that trend. She has a bit to find on ratings, but you’d like how she came home over an inadequate trip at Tipperary; there may be more to come from her.
Irish Oaks fourth Elizabeth Jane drops in class and merits plenty of respect, despite a poor effort last time, while Stromberg has some solid stakes form and is another to consider. Layfayette, back to form in the blinkers at Ascot earlier this month, looks best of the older brigade.
16:10 – Itsonlyjustbegun
Wide open, but it may pay to retain the faith in IT’SONLYJUSTBEGUN, who still appears to be learning on the job and finished out her race well at Naas last weekend. Dangers include Bear Profit, Gandolfo and the returning Saffronandblue. Counterculture is one of the least exposed and worth a look on handicap debut.
16:45 – Autumn Winter (NAP)
There should be more to come from AUTUMN WINTER (nap), and he can come forward from his Thurles victory to land this prize. The Galileo colt will want further in time but handles easy ground and a positive ride would see him to best effect.
Fellow progressive 3yo Masoun is a threat, but soft ground wouldn’t be ideal for him, while ready Listowel winner Soaring Monarch merits plenty of respect, too.
17:20 – Royal Pippen
A few of these have claims, but a chance is taken with ROYAL PIPPEN on his third start for Paul Flynn. He hasn’t won for ages but is well-treated and shaped with some promise at the Curragh last time. Speckled Meadow, Summer Snow and Shoot To Kill are other strong contenders.
