16:27 – Simiyann

SIMIYANN ran out as an impressive winner over a mile and three quarters at this course two starts back, confirming previous promise to belatedly open his account, and he ran to a similar level in defeat at Chelmsford last time. He pulled clear of the remainder with the winner that day, and appears to have been found a good opportunity here, back at two miles. Daaris is feared most ahead of Trojan Truth.

17:00 – Show Biz Kid

SHOW BIZ KID showed some fairly useful form for Richard Hannon, and his third-place finish in a handicap at Nottingham in June has worked out well, with both the winner and runner-up winning next time. He has since been picked up by new connections for 10,000 guineas, and he looks interesting back in novice company, and up in trip. Corundum, who moves up in distance, is the obvious danger.

17:30 – Hitched

HITCHED and Harbour Vision won the two divisions of this last year and are of real interest again. It’s the former who makes most appeal, though, after he shaped better than the bare result at Lingfield last time. He endured a wide trip that day, and a return to this venue and distance is expected to bring out his best, while he’s also 1 lb lower than 12 months ago. We’renotreallyhere and Outrace are also in the mix.

18:00 – Twilight Dancer

All three of TWILIGHT DANCER’s wins have come on turf, but she’s equally effective on all-weather too, and she’s beginning to look particularly well handicapped now 6 lb below her last winning mark. She wasn’t at her best last time, but she’s yet to convince with her stamina up to a mile, and should be much happier back at this trip. She’s fancied to resume winning ways at the chief expense of Ruth Carr’s in-form veteran Reputation, though Souffionne, Monsieur Patat and Evocative Spark all need factoring into this open handicap.

18:30 – Rosenzoo

ROSENZOO can boast a good record at this track, scoring over course and distance in July from 2 lb lower and finishing runner-up on his last two starts, also at this venue. He was caught in the final strides last time, and the move back up in trip should suit, so he’s entitled to launch another bold bid. Roger Varian’s Warren Ways was better than the result at Windsor last time, and is second choice, ahead of unexposed handicap newcomer Monsieur Fudge.

19:00 – Charlie’s Choice

CHARLIE’S CHOICE opened his account over this course and distance at the beginning of the year and followed up at Kempton three weeks later. He’s held his form well since, and arguably should have finished closer at Chelmsford last time, so he remains of interest with a professional jockey back on board. Visibility’s recent record is hard to knock and he’s second choice ahead of Salamanca Lad.

19:30 – Bomb Squad

BOMB SQAUD is a past course and distance winner who generally goes well on the all-weather. He shaped like he was very much in need of the run on his return from 11 months off on heavy ground at Leicester 11 days ago and is expected to strip much fitter now. Bomb Squad is back down to his last winning mark, and preferred to Saffredi, who started out well for his new handler and could emerge as the main danger, ahead of course-specialist Arlecchino’s Gift and in-form Vape.

20:00 – Papa Don’t Preach

PAPA DON’T PREACH won in good style at Chelmsford earlier this month and backed that performance up with a solid third at Southwell just two days ago. He’s worth a chance to resume winning ways in a thin race despite the quick turnaround. Spanish Angel and Street Life may prove the biggest threats.

20:30 – Sea Of Charm

SEA OF CHARM has a solid record at this track, winning over course and distance two starts back and, although behind Renoir last time, that rival was much better positioned and he’s fancied to reverse the form. Pysanka arrives in good order and should give his all again.
