16:35 – Nibiru
Autocrat should be ready to go and he’s better on the all-weather track than on turf. Keep an eye on the market to see if Jaafel is popular as that could be a huge sign if he’s going to go close. Nibiru has a great record at this course and he’s highly effective when he’s on his game. He’s dropping in trip and he sets a really good standard. He should be hard to beat.
17:10 – Beauparc
I can see why people are making a case for Church Mountain after his win at Dundalk last week. Elsas Pride should go close but the draw in stall 17 isn’t ideal so I have to oppose her. I’ve landed on Beauparc for Gerard Keane. She hadn’t ran for about a year until her third at Naas in August and you can put a line through her last run at Leopardstown. She should be suited to the surface and she’s in stall one which is a bonus. She could be well handicapped off a mark of 65.
17:45 – Gesture
This is a very competitive handicap. Gesture has a brilliant all-weather record and he’s a dual course and distance winner. He stays well and I can see Shane Foley sitting second or third then making his move late on. He could have the most upside off a mark of 86.
18:15 – Karazhal
Stephen Thorne has Wizard Of Odds after he left the Charles O’Brien yard. He beat King Thistle at Down Royal earlier this year and he’s making his handicap debut. He can go close, as can Sir Jeremy, but I’m with Karazhal. He won at Dundalk in September and he’s open to further improvement. He’s an unknown and he can overcome his draw of stall 15. I can see him being rated in the 90s.
18:45 – Akeela
Monzoon, who is a course and distance winner, is interesting back on the all-weather surface but I’m with Akeela. She won at Naas in the summer and there is more to come from her. She’s unexposed and I’m forgiving her run at Listowel last time out when she had a bad draw. Alan Persse is on board and claiming 7lbs too which is a bonus.
19:15 – Mags (NAP)
Mary Bagot should be all the better after her recent run at Dundalk and she’s got a race in her. Aisling Oscar could also go close but she’s got a bad draw in stall 17. I’m on Mags for Kieran Patrick Cotter. She ran a cracker behind Black Storm a couple of weeks ago and she handles the surface. She should be hard to beat and she ran into a good one in Black Storm last time out.
19:45 – Just For One Day
In a tough race I’m going with the unexposed runner in Just For One Day. Mark Molloy’s runner won at the Curragh last time out in September and there could be more to come from her. All of her family have polytrack form so she should handle the surface. An opening mark of 72 with James Ryan claiming 3lbs is more than workable.
20:15 – Supreme Success
There are question marks about a lot of these runners so I’ll take a chance on Supreme Success. The Joseph O’Brien yard are in great form but she didn’t run too well at Fairyhouse last time out. You can forgive that run and her second at Gowran Park before that proved there’s something there. She can outrun her odds.
