17:10 Chelmsford – Gone Rogue
With his recent Musselburgh form having some substance, GONE ROGUE may be the answer off an unaltered mark. Myna, who should benefit from the first-time hood, is second choice ahead of Switchel and Early Morning Dew. Market confidence behind handicap debutante Angel Mac should be heeded. A few others also have possibilities.
19:15 Chelmsford – Smokey Malone
This is probably between the top three, unless one of the many changes for Apache Eagle has a positive effect. Simiyann made his breakthrough in no little style at Wolverhampton ten days ago but SMOKEY MALONE’s strong finish at Southwell suggests that he could be about to return to winning ways.
19:30 Southwell – Bicep
Tricky. Embarked is second on the list after his narrow C&D win last time out but today’s return to 7f and Southwell could enable BICEP to score for the first time this year. Airshow is also shortlisted but plenty have each-way claims.
20:00 Southwell – Caustic
Each-way cases can be made for all of them. A chance is taken in putting two of the less exposed candidates in CAUSTIC and St Pancras at the top of the list, even though both need to bounce back from a poor show last time. Boldly and Le Rouge Chinois look pretty solid to run well.
20:15 Chelmsford – Idle Assembly
The four C&D winners have possibilities, though look hard to split on form. Handicap debutante IDLE ASSEMBLY is a plausible alternative, while Merrimack is interesting in the refitted visor.
20:30 Southwell – Bond Spirit
Two wins and a second from five races this term, including a Tapeta win on her latest start, has to give Caramay a major chance whatever her head carriage is. Plenty of others bring each-way interest, however, and BOND SPIRIT has shown enough on occasions this year to suggest that last season’s success here could be repeated today. Jimmy Mark and Bay Of Naples are among the others to consider.
