14:20 – Slurricane
Action Plan could reoppose Ballinrobe winner Solar Drive, but that rival ran at Cork on Sunday when late jumping errors proved costly. Preference is for the hurdling debutant SLURRICANE, whose rider claims a valuable 7lb.
14:50 – Jake Peter
Consistent in defeat this season, JAKE PETER could get his turn today if the ground doesn’t soften appreciably. Similar comments apply to Single Edition regarding the ground and he can cause the most significant threat to the selection. Sayitfirst can get involved.
15:20 – Pied Piper
This is a tricky race despite the small turnout. The progressive four-year-old Eagle Fang faces his stiffest task in conceding weight to a pair of former Grade 2 winners in Aspire Tower and PIED PIPER, the latter of whom is preferred on this good ground and over the trip.
15:50 – Ballysax Hank (NAP)
This looks like a match. Mister Pink is having his first run since finishing second in this race last year and runs well fresh. However, BALLYSAX HANK (nap) has recent form and good form at that. In his Listowel second to a stablemate of Mister Pink on this sort of ground and gets the vote over a trip which should suit.
16:20 – Due Course
DUE COURSE has been in good form over hurdles lately. He can improve on his third at Killarney last time with a step up in trip. General Clermont has been in fine form over fences and is a player. Warm In Gorey and Hesasmoothoperator are considered.
16:50 – It’s Not Over Yet
The aptly named ITS NOT OVER YET is taken to complete the hat-trick despite suffering a 12lb hike for winning in a canter at Roscommon. Her two wins have been on softer ground, so any rain would suit. Another recent winner, Cozone, Folly Beach, and Dorans Law, look like the likely dangers.
17:20 – Mummy Derry
Having finished 8l ahead of Minimongous when runner-up on debut at Galway, MUMMY DERRY can go one better today. Lau And Shaz ran a cracker in a valuable Punchestown bumper on debut and could prove her most significant danger. Clongorey has a squeak of getting back to her debut maiden hurdle form.
