13:15 Newmarket – Skellet (each-way)

This renewal certainly has a wide-open look about it, and down the bottom, we find one of only two three-year-olds in the line-up who is off the back of arguably a career-best performance.

SKILLET beat a very solid yardstick last time at Sandown over a mile and with the extra furlong here likely to play to her strengths, she’s an each-way player.

13/2
Skellet Win or Each Way

13:30 York – Invictus Gold

It was really pleasing the way the front two pulled a long way clear up the hill on the July course at Newmarket last time. INVICTUS GOLD still didn’t look the finished article, racing a touch lazily in the opening stages. He has a good chunk of improvement still left in him. On the speed-favouring track, Neil Callan won’t have him far away from the leaders at all stages.

11/4
Invictus Gold Win or Each Way

13:50 Newmarket – Dunamase

DUNAMASE took a while to get organised at Kempton and has quite a high knee action so he definitely won’t mind if any rain falls. He steps up to what is the extreme distance of 10f for the juveniles. It has been a bit of a hit and miss season for the Gosden team, yet they can finish strongly with a big few weeks coming up at home and internationally.

16/1
Dunamase Win or Each Way

14:05 York – Dual Identity

It could be a big day for our rider Neil Callan who also has an ideal opportunity in here to get another one on the board.

DUAL IDENTITY has some rock-solid form around this venue. We can put a line through his last run in the Cambridgeshire as he was drawn completely on the wrong side of the track and still wasn’t beaten absolutely miles. He remains in form, and the step-up in the trip to 1m 2f looks likely to suit him.

12/1
Dual Identity Win or Each Way

14:25 Newmarket – Stanhope Gardens

STANHOPE GARDENS took a big step forward from his debut effort to a thoroughly professional display at Beverly. It was interesting that when his Prix de l’Arc-winning rider gave him the signal to go, he really opened up and powered away through the line. If he takes another step forward – which looks highly likely – he has to be a major player stepping into Group company.

3/1
Stanhope Gardens Win or Each Way

14:40 York – Malc (each-way)

MALC is dropped back into handicap company for the first time in his career. He’s been in against some top-class opposition including twice this season behind Elite Status and Inisherin. He managed to win on his racecourse debut in May 23 so coming in here fresh after a summer break will not be to much of an issue. He rates a big each-way player.

14/1
Malc Win or Each Way

15:00 Newmarket – Shadow of Light

SHADOW OF LIGHT hasn’t really put a foot wrong so far in his four races. When he was beaten at York, he was drawn on completely the wrong side of the track. He certainly made no mistake over 220 yards shorter in the Middle Park Stakes when putting them firmly in their place with a four-length demolition job. The extra yardage today looks perfect.

4/5
Shadow Of Light Win or Each Way

15:40 Newmarket – Aqwaam (each-way)

AQWAAM hasn’t been seen since a very unlucky close-up sixth in the Chester Cup 155 days ago. He’s obviously had some minor injury that has kept him off the racecourse, but there aren’t many better trainers to prepare a horse for a big heritage handicap than Ian Williams. It also works in his favour that he sits perfectly handicapped on a mark of 90 and is unexposed over the extreme distance.

30/1
Aqwaam Win or Each Way
