13:15 Newmarket – Skellet (each-way)

Liberty Lane was a good winner last time out at Newmarket, Ancient Rome hasn’t won in a good while though. The Foxes has a good rating but seems to me to be a bit out of form.

SKELLET is the improver here. Interestingly, Ryan Moore is riding and not Rossa Ryan.

13:30 York – Invictus Gold

Bolo Neighs came first last time out at Curragh, but I wasn’t impressed, and he looks vulnerable. INVICTUS GOLD has been improving, won at Southwell in July, then backed that up with another win at Newmarket and can take this one.

13:50 Newmarket – Shackleton

SHACKLETON will be the one for me. He was a good bit ahead of County Mayo, and they were both behind Tennessee Stud at Tipperary recently. Shackleton is the improver  and gets my vote.

14:05 York – City Streak

I’m going for Andrew Balding’s runnerCITY STREAK. He had two wins in 2023 and improved for a win at Chester last May. He was disappointing at Epsom following that, and then he had a break until September. He lost out to Stressfree and Paddy The Squire there and it looked to me like he got a bit tired, but he will have improved from that run.

With that win at Chester under his belt, he could get involved at a decent price.

14:25 Newmarket – Stanhope Garden

Green Impact beat Delacroix at Leopardstown, and I’m not ready to forgive Delacroix yet. He looked to be out-paced early on there. I’d prefer him in a mile-and-a-quarter race to be honest.

I like STANHOPE GARDENS here with Rossa Ryan riding. Had a good maiden run at York of late in a really good race. Stanhope Gardens then went to Beverley, beat High Season there, and I liked what I saw. I’m going to take a chance on him.

14:40 York – Summerghand (each-way)

I’m not going for Germanic, I’m going to go with SUMMERGHAND who ran well enough behind My Mate Alfie at the Curragh recently. We’re getting a good each-way price.

15:00 Newmarket – The Lion In Winter

THE LION IN WINTER didn’t blow me away on debut at the Curragh, but, I loved the way he did it at York since then. He was always in control there, broke smartly, he was much the better horse there and can go win this.

15:40 Newmarket – Sea Of Sands & Reverend Hubert (each-way)

Willie Mullins’ SEA OF SANDS was impressive at Listowel recently in a maiden hurdle. He beat The Mediator who was subsequently beaten by Barry Connell’s Hashtag Pretender. He showed decent form in both Germany and France on the Flat. He’s been at Closutton for a while now, since around August or September of 2022.

I watched him work on Tuesday morning, and he looked to be in good form. He’s got a great chance and William Buick rides He’s drawn in stall 11, I would prefer him to be a bit further out, but he’s got a great chance.

I’d give REVEREND HUBERT a chance, too. The price on him is definitely wrong. Sean Davis is riding for Charles Byrnes. He was formally with Richard Hannon on the Flat in the UK and had some wins under him. He’s had plenty of runs under Byrnes, although not too many on the Flat. An each-way shout.
