Karen Jewell has three live chances and the pick of the trio could be PABLO PRINCE who still looks on an attractive mark. Stablemates The Colorist and Torbellino are feared most in that order, though Kokinelli and Highland Slipper are possible improvers now raised in distance.
16:43 – Yankee Dude
There are several newcomers of interest with Music Of Time, Travel Agent and General Admission (second choice) looking the pick of the bunch. YANKEE DUDE has a penalty to shoulder after his Lingfield win last month but he picked up strongly on that occasion and could be good enough to follow up.
17:15 – Detain
Ar Rayyan is an interesting newcomer from a yard that won both divisions of this 12 months ago, and The Hare Rail is unlikely to remain a maiden for long. However, DETAIN looked a colt with serious potential on his debut here in August and he’s in the Group 1 at Doncaster later this month.
17:45 – Sweet Sonata
This looks fiendishly competitive and few can safely be scrubbed out. Things will click for Rogue Bullet at some point in nurseries and he’s respected, with Panenka, Fort Augustus, Hucklesbrook (second choice) and Nightbird also high on the list. SWEET SONATA has been unable to cope with a penalty in novice events on her last two starts but she makes her nursery debut at a realistic level and Oisin Murphy’s presence in the saddle offers hope of better.
18:15 – Requisite
Ralph Beckett’s REQUISITE may have chased home two smart prospects at Sandown and her yard’s 2yos usually come on for a run. Cast Party also shaped like a surefire future winner first time out and she could be the danger, though the two Godolphin newcomers may have plenty to say about that.
18:45 – Pursuit Of Truth
The 3yos Midnight Drive and Mbappe (second choice) both appeal as having more to come over this C&D but the well-connected PURSUIT OF TRUTH could be quite dangerous on his handicap debut, having stepped up on his 2yo efforts when running encouragingly on his belated return to action at Salisbury. Beauty Generation and Green Power can also be involved.
19:15 – Chalk Mountain (NAP)
The return to AW has been the making of CHALK MOUNTAIN (nap) and he completed a three-timer when an impressive winner over C&D last week. He looks the one to beat under a penalty. Upscale finished in front of two of these rivals when second over C&D last month and she looks to be the main danger. Another to consider is Mezzo Soprano who finished third over C&D a fortnight ago and should be thereabouts.
19:45 – Havana Mojito
Few of these come here in much form and it looks a race with which to tread carefully. A big step forward from either of Twilight Truth or Glastonbury would be no surprise, while True Blue Gent and Irrelevant (second choice) have course form that would make them serious players at this level. HAVANA MOJITO has to bounce back from a poor 6f run last time but this is a weaker race, the trip should be more suitable and cheekpieces could give him a lift too.
20:15 – Laguna Boy
It’s unlikely all the pace influences will take each other on, but even so this should be a good test. Hierarchy, Hiatus (second choice) and Charlie Mason could all benefit from such a scenario but there’s a good chance there’s more to come from LAGUNA BOY, who pulled his chance away at Chelmsford three weeks ago. This drop to 6f in a well-run race could be ideal.
