Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.

Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

14:00 Southwell – Gerard Mentor (Telehraph)

Plenty in with chances here and the pick looks to be GERARD MENTOR, who stepped up on his chase debut to score last time and should have more to come over fences. Theonlywayiswessex could be his strongest opponent, while Clean Getaway, Nevendon, and Pep Talking are also respected.

14:23 Warwick – Lady Jago (The Times)

This could be a good opportunity for Irish point winner LADY JAGO to deliver on the promise she showed in bumpers last season and score on her hurdling debut. Jayapura makes her rules debut after a long absence, but she won her Irish point easily and is feared most. Roebuck Bay is bred to be suited by today’s step up in trip and may reward each-way support.

16:20 Salisbury – New Chelsea (The Guardian)

There are question marks left, right and centre in this line-up. Consequently a chance is taken that NEW CHELSEA will regain his form thanks to the wind surgery and/or visor. He was beaten a head in a race on heavy ground last term. Odin Legacy is a lightly raced, improving 3yo to be taken seriously, while Bucephalus will have a major say if he is fit enough after his summer break.

16:25 Clonmel – Sydney Cruiser (The Irish Sun)

Not many make much appeal. SYDNEY CRUISER has been consistent in defeat lately over various trips and could get her day in the sun today. Oskar High might find this trip a bit short, but is a last-time-out winner and is respected. Hatfield Hammer and Pettigo can go well if at their best.
