14:10 – Eupator

There are some interesting newcomers here, including EUPATOR who holds an entry from the Group 1 Futurity Trophy. He was a €135,000 purchase as a yearling, is by Persian King and out of an unraced half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Midday. He is taken to make a winning start for Richard Hannon. Ralph Beckett also introduces a couple of well-bred newcomers in Perfect Your Craft and Too Don Juan and they can complete the placings.

14:40 – Chantilly Lace

CHANTILLY LACE boasts an eye-catching pedigree so gets the vote on debut for Ralph Beckett whose two-year-olds are in flying form. She cost 375,000 guineas as a yearling and is a half-sister to several winners, most notably the dual Group 1-winning sprinter Ten Sovereigns, so she makes appeal on paper. Char also boasts a good pedigree, being out of a half-sister to the smart Rahiyah, who was placed in the French 1000 Guineas, so he could provide the main threat.

15:15 – Persian Spirit

PERSIAN SPIRIT was sent off a big price on debut at Newbury last month, but she got off to a winning start, beating the standard-setting favourite by half a length in a decent time. There was a lot to like about how enthusiastically she travelled at the head of affairs and how well she asserted in the final 100 yards. She is entitled to take a step forward, with that experience under her belt, and she can make the most of the weight she receives from her rivals. Ardennes should find this easier than the listed race he contested last time, and the pick of his form is the best on offer, so he’s entitled to plenty of respect.

15:50 – Nariko

NARIKO raised her game in landing a six-furlong handicap at Haydock when last seen in May, impressing with her strength in the finish as she pulled a couple of lengths clear. That form worked out well – the second and third both won next time out – so she looks fairly treated following a 7 lb rise in the weights. Oisin Murphy, who was aboard at Haydock, is back in the saddle and the selection is worth siding with on her return.

16:20 – Indemnity

INDEMNITY has ran respectably in better handicaps and is of interest back down in class here. He’s also eased in the weights slightly, so is 2 lb lower than when beaten less than half a length in third in this grade, at Sandown in July. High Fibre has been in better form this season than the bare figures suggest and he is another to consider.

16:50 – Small Fry

SMALL FRY is operating at the top of his game and made it three wins in his last four starts when successful at Chester 12 days ago. He won that with something to spare, having matters under control after drawing clear on the home turn, and a 6 lb rise in the weights should not be enough to stop this thriving three-year-old.
