17:00 – Enclosure
Not beaten far in two Group 3s since her novice win, Biniorella Bay sets a fair standard under the penalty, but there was promise in the well-related ENCLOSURE‘s debut effort on Tapeta, and she’s fancied to progress past. Protest is an interesting newcomer. Step up to 1m 3f. Kitty Furnival is a big player. If she can get back on track, newcomers Volakes and the Gosden-trained Jane Temple need a close look in the market.
17:30 – Dereham
It is a trappy event in which all seven runners can have their cases argued. Easter Icon resumed winning ways over hurdles last time, and he’s high on the list. Grand Duchess Olga and Simiyann will both appreciate the return to Class 6 company. DEREHAM has been threatening on turf lately and this race could place sufficient emphasis on stamina for him to register a first AW success.
18:00 – Brandywine Falls
Matharu (second choice) has progressed well since handicapping in blinkers, while Telford remains open to improvement, having come away with the favourite on her C&D nursery debut a month ago. The well-related BRANDYWINE FALLS hasn’t had the breaks in two nursery runs as favourite, though, and shapes like an easy 7f will be fine. Karl Carlston is another one with claims, but his tendency to hang left is offputting.
18:30 – Dancing Magic
Few of these have much to recommend them in the short term. Stanage has shown ability, but he’s not without quirks, and he was disappointing last time. Bereit and Jumeirah Sea have the potential to compete in maidens, but this could be the day it finally falls into place for DANCING MAGIC. His Group-Race days look behind him, but repeating his latest second here may suffice in this field.
19:00 – Pinball Wizard
A successful link-up with James Owen has helped put Sean Dylan Bowen on the verge of becoming champion apprentice, and the partnership can strike again courtesy of the penalised PINBALL WIZARD. The well-travelled Nammos is an obvious threat, having seen off subsequent dual C&D winner Twitch here a month ago. At the same time, support for either Lord Rapscallion, who likes it here and is handily treated back on Polytrack, or handicap newcomer I Can’t Believe would be interesting.
19:30 – Clear Justice
It’s a big field, but it is hard to gush over the prospects of many. A revival from Hurtle wouldn’t be a major bombshell, while Alyara is perhaps in better form than her figures suggest, and Floridian still has time to fulfil her maiden promise. However, this may be left to the two Moore-trained runners, with CLEAR JUSTICE and Semser having something to recommend them. The recent solid form of the selection tips the scales in his favour, although Semser is potentially thrown in and does appear to retain ability.
20:00 – Chips And Rice
Pink Lily (second choice) knows how to win and shouldn’t be underestimated despite her latest weight rise, while Midsummer Music and Zariela also enter the reckoning. However, this is an ease in grade for CHIPS AND RICE, and she can defy top weight.
20:30 – Crocodile Power (NAP)
Ten Club did well to peg back the long-time leader at Kempton last week but a penalty leaves him 3lb wrong. Epic Express (second choice) could revive after a wind op and a break, while Mokaatil and Unico will likely be in the shake-up. However, CROCODILE POWER (nap) comes here at the top of his game and is taken to complete the hat trick.
