The number crunchers reckon Soowaih (14:50) can make it a good day at the Scottish track.

13:40 – Tele Red

None of these can be ruled out, but last year’s winner, TELE RED, hails from a yard well among the winners and signalled he is ready to strike again when a good York fourth last time out (form working out well). He is 1 lb lower than when successful 12 months ago and is preferred to George Boughey’s new recruit, Gracious Leader, who is weighted to have a big say, and the market will likely reveal more. Yaaser, Power of Gold and Candonomore are others to consider.

14:15 – Weissmuller

This doesn’t look like the strongest race of its type, and it is a perfect opportunity for WEISSMULLER to open his account. He wasn’t beaten far in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot on just his second start, and though he was beaten at short odds last time, he has shown much better form than these. Invitorio and Blue Pinatubo appeal as the duo to chase home the selection in that order.

14:50 – Soowaih

SOOWAIH ran about as well as he has done since joining this yard when beaten a neck over a mile and a half at Hamilton last week, beaten only by his stablemate with an exemplary course record. The drop back in trip won’t be a problem for him, and, able to race from the same mark, he seems sure to launch another bold bid. Pol Roger, a course and distance winner, heads the list of dangers with Jewel Maker, Reyaadah Star, and Tilsitt, who are also in the picture in this very open contest.

15:25 – Jenni

JENNI has shown improved form since stepping up to seven furlongs, building on the promise of her previous run when opening her account over this course and distance ten days ago. She was well positioned the way that race went but was always holding the runner-up, and she could have even more to offer at this trip up just 3 lb. Former winners Redarna and Abduction seem set to be on the premises once more and can ensure David O’Meara’s filly doesn’t have things her own way.

16:00 – Sir Garfield

This isn’t a great race, and the consistent SIR GARFIELD is taken to come out on top. He has found his feet since being fitted with blinkers this year, opening his account at Catterick in July and finishing runner-up on four of his last five starts, including over this course and distance 12 days ago. This assignment seems slightly more straightforward, and he looks sure to run his race again. Novak is a past winner of course and distance and is feared, along with in-form San Isidro.

16:35 – Muscika

MUSCIKA is a veteran now, but he confirmed his return to form when edged out in the final strides at Epsom on his most recent outing, going with plenty of zest but edged out only by an improving three-year-old, and is well worth another chance to go one better from what still looks a fair mark. Act of Violence seems likely to be on the premises again, with the quirky Jump The Gun and Rousing Encore others to consider.

17:05 – Trojan Sun

TROJAN SUN fully confirmed the improvement shown at Musselburgh when third at Chester last time, and with that form proving strong, he’s taken to resume winning ways. Yurinov gave the impression at Nottingham that this still longer trip will pose no issue, and he’s feared most.
