13:50 – Rolica
After a smooth debut success on her return in 2024, ROLICA stepped up dramatically to be beaten by only 2¼ lengths in the 1,000 Guineas over today’s course and distance. She seemed to hit a little bit of a flat spot when last seen at Sandown up the hill; now she is back at this venue where she already has some strong form. I expect her to be ridden a touch more aggressively from the top of the dip and get free wheeling a long way from home.
14:25 – Place Of Safety
PLACE OF SAFETY is the low mileage improver in this lineup. She did incredibly well 55 days ago across the other side of Newmarket on the July course when she was only outpointed later on by a horse with much more experience. She’s pretty big physically and will only improve at the back end of this current campaign and into next season.
15:00 – Definitive
From what they have shown on the racecourse, DEFINITIVE is not officially at her best yet, but I took a lot of encouragement from how she went through the line over an inadequate 6f last time at Ascot. She’s been completely overlooked in the market and can cause a minor upset in this Group 2 contest.
15:35 – Prague
PRAGUE was unlucky not to get the job done at Haydock last time when he was all dressed up and had nowhere to go late on. He’s one of very few who have managed to slip through the net from the Ballydoyle outfit at just stg£10,000 in the sales. He already looks a cheap buy for connections and can progress further.
