16:27 – Help Me Rhonda
This is wide open, but James Fanshawe’s recruit HELP ME RHONDA is taken to build on her encouraging Wolverhampton sixth to get off the mark on a second start for her in-form yard. Eight Mile heads the list of dangers, on the back of a good Lingfield second, although Mizuumi, Grecian God and Purple Poppy need factoring in too.
17:00 – Sea Founder
This is easier than the races Dividend tackled in the last two and he can go well, while Neardown can’t be knocked for a winning debut, even if those in behind haven’t franked the form. Grecian Legacy may improve for 1m, but the key race may be the Windsor novice in which Special Ghaiyyath finished second and SEA FOUNDER fifth. Richard Hughes’ representative can reverse the placings after shaping with conspicuous promise from off the pace.
17:30 – Magical Trail
Speaktotheguvnor showed enough on debut to think she would be winning races sooner rather than later, while Bintjan, and especially Jettie’s Run, are newcomers of note. MAGICAL TRAIL looked promising winning at Newmarket last month though and she’s taken to defy her penalty.
18:00 – Montrachet Girl
The weaker of the two divisions and solid options are thin on the ground. Spirited Dancer and Angelica Bay have form claims at their best, while Orchid ran well here on debut, but then completely fluffed the start last time. Ornately pulled too hard on slow ground on debut and could leave that effort miles behind but MONTRACHET GIRL is tentatively preferred. She ran well on her second start last time can be forgiven having over-raced early. A hood might get her back on track.
18:30 – Hunters Run (nap)
Old Saxony is likely to come good at some point but this looks best left to HUNTERS RUN (nap), who made a positive impression at Lingfield 11 days ago and has more to come over the longer trip. Beach Point and Versatile are best of the rest.
19:00 – The Whipmaster
This may go to THE WHIPMASTER who has returned from wind surgery with two near misses and should get a nice tow into this race from Graignes, who is drawn next door and often front runs. High Fibre is one to be interested in, though whether this track plays to his strengths is debatable. Sonnerie Power is solid and second choice.
19:30 – North View
An intriguing race. NORTH VIEW isn’t guaranteed to get the end-to-end gallop that saw him record a stylish win at Newbury last month but it’s hard to believe a 4lb rise is beyond him on that evidence. There are front-runners on show, and in the hope they don’t crawl, he’s fancied to follow up. Pumalin Park (second choice), Piz Nair and Mezzo Soprano head the dangers but don’t be surprised if Arctician outruns his odds.
20:00 – The Real Mckay
A low-grade handicap but it looks trappy. First Company (second choice) should appreciate the return to this track and he’s lurking on a dangerous mark, while Nelson Rose comes here on the up, Crafty Spirit could benefit from having been gelded and Bint Havana Gold and Moe’s Legacy are plausible contenders. THE REAL MCKAY’s latest Newcastle run is easy to excuse and she can resume her progress back down in Class 6.
20:30 – Tailorman
The in-form TAILORMAN should be on the premises if as effective on the AW and his only previous run on this surface as a novice. Hat-trick seeker Doublethetrouble could provide the biggest threat, though with a solid pace on the cards Anisoptera should be running on late in the day.
