13:40 – Force Of Honour

FORCE OF HONOUR showed much improved form ridden from the front when four lengths second to Sheilas Well at Newcastle earlier this month and a repeat could be enough for Craig Lidster’s colt to go one better in this nursery. Second choice is Gentle Warrior who has offered little in his qualifying runs but could prove a different proposition fitted with a visor now heading down the nursery route. Mavetheforcebewivu and Aleishka can fight out third.

14:10 – Saytarr

The second nursery on the card can go to the Charlie Fellowes-trained SAYTARR who again went through the race as though ahead of his mark when a neck second to the reopposing Herecomesthebear in a similar event at Ffos Las a month ago. This well-bred colt is fancied to get the job done this time. Fallen Soldier, who was also runner-up in a nursery last time, at Thirsk, is a solid opponent in first-time cheekpieces, with Forteleza the type to go on improving now handicapping.

14:45 – High Season

Charlie Johnston’s HIGH SEASON had an excuse for his effort in the Convivial Maiden at York last time when probably finding the race coming too soon and is given another chance to confirm the promise of his debut at Beverley when shaping well in second behind the more experienced Stanhope Gardens. Caledonian showed promise when runner-up at Yarmouth last time and can provide the chief threat unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding Karl Burke newcomer Last Galileo.

15:20 – My Cloud

MY CLOUD is a half-brother to top-class miler Palace Pier, and he showed plenty of promise when beaten a neck on his debut for Roger Varian at Newcastle in February. He can go one better on his return. This is a rather belated first outing of the season for Walsingham, who’s now with David O’Meara, but he’s the obvious form threat to the selection if retaining anything like the ability he showed for Dermot Weld in Ireland last year when looking unlucky to be narrowly beaten on his final start.

15:55 – Liberty Coach

LIBERTY COACH has been a different proposition since John & Sean Quinn fitted him with cheekpieces and a 6 lb penalty doesn’t look enough to prevent him completing a hat-trick. He got off the mark in an apprentice race at Doncaster in August and then followed up over the same course and distance at the St Leger meeting. Eeetee ran well when fourth here last week and may provide the main threat ahead of Secret World who was second at Beverley a week ago.

16:32 – True Wisdom

TRUE WISDOM was only narrowly denied here last week when rallying to be beaten a neck by See That Storm after making the running and might be able to go one better off the same mark. Fellow 3-y-os Glistening Nights, a three-time winner over the summer, and Titainium, who was the course-and-distance winner of an apprentice contest last month, may give Charlie Johnston’s charge most to think about.

17:05 – Maris Angel

It’s easy enough to see last-time-out winners MARIS ANGEL and Soul Seeker coming to the fore again with preference for the former given she’s a 3-y-o on a sharp upward trajectory. Mark Walford’s filly is seeking a hat-trick this month as she followed up a win at Wolverhampton with a course-and-distance success on her turf debut last week. Of the rest, Miss Brazen shaped quite nicely when a close third at Beverley last time and is well weighted these days.

17:40 – Kodebreaker

KODEBREAKER returned to his best for Michael Herrington when runner-up at this course eight days ago, bumping into Captain Corelli who was completing a hat-trick, so he is taken to record a third win of the season after earlier victories at Yarmouth and Doncaster. Heading the list of dangers is stablemate Ratafia, who also bounced back to form when winning at Yarmouth last time, with Kode Secret another who could be in the mix.
