16:24 Bond Spirit

Sycamore Gap and Mon Etoile are 0-30 between them, but their best form still makes them serious players in this field and both were only just beaten in their latest starts. However, BOND SPIRIT makes more appeal having won three times including twice on the Southwell Tapeta. His recent return from a short break was pleasing enough.

16:55 Loom Large (NAP)

Where Is The Love is high on the list if stepping forward from her promising Chelmsford reappearance, while The Bobster is also respected with the form of his latest start having been franked. The vote, however, goes to LOOM LARGE (NAP) who has winning form over C&D and shaped as though the return to this trip would suit when just beaten over 1m here a fortnight ago. Vintage Love looks best of the rest.

17:25 Busby

The sole 3yo Curious Mrs Fox may still have a bit more to offer, while C&D winner Wheres The Crumpet would be a player if the return to this trip revives her. Our Noble Lord ran better last time and hasn’t been with his yard for long, while Carlton has dropped to a favourable mark. However, it may be worth taking a chance with BUSBY who is also well treated on his placed efforts over C&D earlier in the year.

18:00 Veer

This looks to be between the 3yos. Different Drum is bred to stay all day so this extra 4f may bring about further improvement, while Unique Spirit was only beaten two heads into third over C&D last Thursday. The choice is VEER who has finished runner-up in his last two starts over 1m6f and shaped on both occasions as though this even stiffer test would suit.

18:30 Magic Basma

There was 3l separating MAGIC BASMA and Khaldiya when they finished first and third respectively at Carlisle last month. The latter enjoys a 7lb pull, but the former was making her debut that day so as she managed to win despite being sent off an unconsidered 25-1 shot, she may have plenty of improvement left in her. Primrose Path would pose a threat if taking another step forward after her improved Newbury performance.

19:00 Harry Palmer

Three of the last five runnings of this have gone to a 2yo making their nursery debut, and there are some interesting types with that profile here. It would be no surprise if Wiesaam (second choice) left his previous form behind with the stable having such a good strike-rate here, but HARRY PALMER looks interesting with his dam a sister to the smart Commander Cole who showed useful form on the AW including on Tapeta.

19:30 Trident

Bamburgh showed enough in his two starts on turf last month to be a leading contender, while Boss Dog and the 5yo Parthenopaeus also make the shortlist. However, none of them set a particularly daunting standard so TRIDENT wouldn’t have to be anything out of the ordinary to make a belated winning debut. Both his pedigree and his connections certainly make him of interest.

20:00 Patontheback

It will be interesting to see how Jamie Spencer gets on with the 23-race maiden Windsor Pass as she has the ability to win a race if everything falls right. Bicep is another for whom the cards need to fall perfectly, but if they do he has he to be a contender off 4lb lower than when winning over C&D just under a year ago. However, the vote goes to PATONTHEBACK who did well on turf in the summer and would have a good chance if back to the sort of form that saw him win easily over C&D in August last year.

20:30 Love Warrior

Tambourine Dream could be given a chance if transferring her best Polytrack form back to Tapeta, but LOVE WARRIOR made such a promising stable debut when beaten a neck over C&D a week ago and is taken to go one better. The main danger may come from Balqaa who is 6lb higher than when winning at Southwell a fortnight ago, but remains feasibly treated on her spring form.
