13:50 Curragh – Summerghand

Summerghand is so dangerously-well handicap that he’s got to pop up soon, even at the age of 10. He has a crack pilot on his side in Ronan Whelan and is drawn in a decent position where he should be able to follow the speed and pounce late in the day. A mark of 88 will be exploited soon.

14:05 Doncaster – Badri

Badri was slightly underwhelming last time when fourth at Ascot, even though he finished a fairly close up for Michael Herrington, but the fact the team decided to turn him around fairly quickly just eight days later suggest he is bouncing and ready for the assignment. He’s another who comes in here on a very attractive looking mark.

14:25 Curragh – Rogue Millennium

Rouge Millennium has not had many goes over this 1m 2f distance and it has all been slightly downhill after what was a luckless return to action this season over a mile at this venue. William Buick gets the call up, which is no bad thing, and expect her potent late change of gear to be on full show this afternoon.

14:40 Doncaster – Ten Pounds

Ten Pounds looked a real improver last time when considerably stepping up on his previous efforts, winning a tidy little handicap with the minimum of fuss. He has taken a little rap on the knuckles from the handicapper for that win, but is probably going to be a graded performer soon.

15:00 Curragh – Simmering

Simmering got the job done over 6f prior to a demolition job over in France last time where the extra yardage enabled her to show an impressive turn of foot. She needs to improve to lower the colours of the unbeaten Bedtime Story, but that looks possible as she was made to work hard for her latest victory.

15:15 Doncaster – Fair Angellica

Fair Angellica looked really good when dropped back down to the long-sprint distance 0f 7f last time in France. She was given a much more positive ride and it seemed to work. The 7f trip and likely good ground all look in her favour now too, It’s a big opportunity for her rider Finley Marsh to gain a big success in front of the ITV Racing cameras.

15:35 Curragh – Bucanero Fuerte (each-way)

Bucanero Fuerte showed blistering speed up at Haydock last week but he was never going to keep it up after a sub-11-second, second furlong. Now bck down over the minimum 5f trip, he may prove an altogether different proposition and comes in here with a favourable rating compared to those at the top of the market. He looks to be an each-way play, lining up quickly again.

15:45 Doncaster – Hartur D’Oudairies

I’ve always found in this ‘Leger Legends’ race to go for the recently retired jockeys. We have an absolute legend of the game in Gerald Mosse on Hartur D’Oudairies. Added to that, he’s riding a low-mileage improver on the level and he’s guaranteed to hit the line strongly – unlike most of these.

16:15 Doncaster – Silver Samurai (each-way)

Silver Samurai seems to have been overlooked in the market which is interesting. He brings in a perfect 100 per cent record at this venue and the 6.5f intermediate distance also looks ideal for him. He’s reunited with a jockey that gets a perfect tune out of him in Daniel Muscutt. All things look in place for a big (each-way) effort.
