13:10 – Bubbling

BUBBLING showed ability on her debut at this course in July and duly built on that promise when opening her account in style at Galway later that month, going with plenty of enthusiasm and readily moving clear. She still looks a work in progress, so she’s entitled to progress further still, and is well up to making her mark in listed company. Chantez is a useful prospect for Ger Lyons’ team and is second choice ahead of Mojave River, who won a valuable newcomers race in France last month.

13:40 – Green Impact

Both Aidan O’Brien runners obviously command plenty of respect, but GREEN IMPACT has beaten them both in a couple of starts already, and is fancied to come out on top again. He showed plenty first time up, beaten a neck by a promising sort, and didn’t really need to improve when one and a half lengths too strong for Delacroix over course and distance last time. There should be even more to come from him and he’s fancied to take this step up in class in his stride.

14:15 – Diego Velazquez

DIEGO VELAZQUEZ returned to form with a vengeance when forging clear of a subsequent winner in the Meld Stakes over 9f at this course in July and is fancied to take the step back up in grade in his stride and remain unbeaten at this track. Maljoom is sure to pose a threat if returning to the form shown when runner-up in the Sussex Stakes on his penultimate outing, while Poker Face has solid each-way claims if backing up his latest effort.

14:50 – Porta Fortuna

PORTA FORTUNA was a Group 1 winner as a juvenile and has improved further this season, building on her promise in the 1000 Guineas to win her last two starts, in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. The runner-up of the latter race has since finished first past the post at Glorious Goodwood, to give the form a boost, and she looks a more reliable selection than Fallen Angel, who is returning from injury.

15:25 – Economics

A good renewal of the Irish Champion Stakes and ECONOMICS is fancied to continue his progression. He’s improved with each run, taking a big jump forward to land the Dante Stakes at York in the style of a future Group 1 performer, and he impressed after a short break in a Group 2 at Deauville last month. He did well to make up so much ground on that occasion and can make the breakthrough at the top level now. Last year’s winner Auguste Rodin can bounce back from a below-par run in the King George and provide the chief threat ahead of Ghostwriter.

16:00 – Trustyourinstinct

This Group 3 has an open feel to it with TRUSTYOURINSTINCT just about the most persuasive option with the way he stuck to his task as runner-up to Continuous in the Royal Whip Stakes strongly suggesting this trip will suit. Klondike must concede weight all round as a winner at this level recently, but he’s very likely to go well again, with Sumiha another to note with her ceiling not yet known.

16:35 – Plontier

This is wide open, but Willie Mullins looks to hold a strong hand and his new recruit PLONTIER, a useful winner on the Flat in France, could prove ahead of his mark having scored easily over hurdles on his yard debut last month. Aidan O’Brien’s much less exposed three-year-old Chemistry heads the list of dangers, now going handicapping with better still to come, while the selection’s stablemates Spasiba and Bialystok are also weighted to have a say. Oriole and Fighter are others to consider.

17:10 – Cerulean Bay

CERULEAN BAY arrives here a three-year-old firmly on the up, completing a hat-trick with a bit to spare when fending off fellow British raider Cuban Tiger at Thirsk 2 weeks ago. His style of racing makes it difficult for the handicapper to pin him down, and he looks sure to go well again, following a 4 lb rise for that success and he’s very much of interest  with his stable in fine form.

17:45 – Quadruple

Ger Lyons’ progressive QUADRUPLE has won two of her three starts in handicaps, recording a career-best effort when successful over this trip at the Curragh last time, and makes most appeal from a 6 lb higher mark in a competitive fillies event. English-raider Zapphire has enjoyed a solid campaign and rates as a major player, with fellow raider Arisaig and hat-trick seeking Evening Blossom in the mix.
