Moodofthemoment (second choice) kept on well for second over C&D on a recent stable debut and ties in with Goaheadwiththeplan on that form so the answer might be five-time chase winner BLUEBERRY WINE, who has not been at his best this year but has become very well handicapped and might be revitalised by first-time cheekpieces. Royal Max was ahead of the selection in third at Market Rasen last month and is also shortlisted.

A few of these have possibilities but there is no strong temptation to oppose improving 8yo NEXT LEFT, who won by 15l over C&D ten days ago and still looks well handicapped under a 7lb penalty. Opening Bid might pose a threat if the first-time cheekpieces have a positive effect. Chasing debutant Roccovango has potential and is next on the list, while Duke Of Luckley finished second on C&D on his last two appearances and has promising 7lb claimer Daire McConville enlisted today.

17:10 Presenting Nelly

Last-time scorers Oceanline and Long Draw (second choice) must enter calculations in this competitive handicap, while Zestful Hope and Could Be Trouble are weighted to have a say. Hat-trick seeking Kosasiempre is another who brings very solid claims but Dan Skelton’s PRESENTING NELLY (nap) looks primed for a bold showing on the back of her promising reappearance sixth at Uttoxeter and is well worth siding with.

17:40 – Dameofthecotswolds

She’s relatively exposed after eight hurdling starts and has a point to prove after a poor run in May but DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS held her own in two valuable handicaps in spring and ought to be too good for this field if back in good form after her break. Rockola Vogue won a course bumper in pretty good style last month and is second choice, while there should be a bit more to come from Miss Goldfire.

 

18:10 – King Roly

Lots with chances. Anytrixwilldo has the form to play a big part if back to his best, while The Flying Poet and Chancycourt can both have a say now their stamina is drawn out more. But this could rest between hurdling debutants KING ROLY and Moonset with preference for Peter and Michael Bowen’s son of Scorpion who can add to his recent Perth bumper success.

18:40 – Indian Sunbird

Not many in here have obvious chances. One of them would be Santa Clarita, who was admittedly a little fortunate to win here last time. It would be no surprise to see her follow up but she has something to prove over this far and may be vulnerable. The suggestion is INDIAN SUNBIRD, who was in good form here prior to a spill last time and will see out every yard. Mactavish and Best Mate Dave can jointly battle for some prize-money.

19:10 – Scintillante

Caldwell is likely to be on shortlists after winning last time but his record suggests he needs improvement to defy a 5lb rise. Preference is for SCINTILLANTE, whose latest effort gives him a good chance of going one better in this field, granted a repeat of that form. Electric Eddy and Kintaro represent top trainers who may be able to get back on track and go close. Hedera Park has a bit to prove over this trip.
