FOUGERE has shown improved form since being fitted with a hood, producing a career-best effort to belatedly open his account over this trip at Nottingham in July, only scoring by a neck, but doing so comfortably enough.
That form is working out well and he lost out only narrowly in his follow-up bid at Yarmouth last time, giving best only late on to one that had gone through the race more efficiently. He arrives in top form and can launch another bold bid. Fillyfudge is another who has reacted well to headgear in recent starts and can give Dean Ivory’s filly most to do.

AL WASEELA continues to progress with racing, not disgraced on her handicap debut over this course and distance two starts back, and strong in the betting when easily running her best race at Chelmsford 10 days ago.
She was beaten only a neck by another improver who was making their handicap debut, pulling well clear of the remainder, and she makes plenty of appeal despite a 5lb rise in the weights. Last week’s big-priced Chepstow winner Liricist can give her most to do.

This looks a good race on paper, but FORMAL looked something out of the ordinary when making a winning debut at Newbury in July, and she is hard to oppose on the back of that performance. She was still full of running entering the final furlong, displaying a good turn of pace to move clear, and just kept up to her work when showing signs of inexperience in the closing stages.
She is open to significant improvement now and can defy a penalty before moving up in grade (she holds an entry in the Rockfel). Orchid shaped well when she was second on her debut four weeks ago and is the obvious one to follow Sir Michael Stoute’s charge home.

STARZINTHEIREYES chased home subsequent Solario Stakes winner Field of Gold on his Newmarket debut in July and sets a high standard for the rest to aim at, particularly if making the expected improvement for a yard enjoying a fantastic year with their juveniles.
Spirit of Summer can be forgiven his run in the Convivial at York, and his second on Newmarket debut prior to that marks him down as a promising colt, so he’s second choice ahead of Archivist, who should be all the wiser with his Lingfield debut behind him.

David Menuisier has his team in fine form so, LAURA BAY is taken to step up again and make it three wins from four starts in handicaps. She appreciated the drop back to this trip when resuming winning ways at Sandown last time, looking more straightforward than she had at Newbury on her previous start, and she can defy a 5lb rise.
Ciara Pearl has had an excellent season and may give her most to do ahead of Hot Fashion and Salamanca City, a last-time-out winner over this course and distance.
16:44 Yazaman
YAZAMAN has taken off since being fitted with blinkers, winning all four of his starts in five-furlong handicaps, and he left the impression his winning run won’t be coming to an end anytime soon at Thirsk in July. He travelled like the best horse at the weights on that occasion, and found plenty in the closing stages, so he’s taken to defy another 6lb rise and complete a five-timer.
Fletcher’s Flight quickly resumed winning ways at Yarmouth on his first go at five furlongs and is next best ahead of Sound Reason.
17:17 The Ridler
THE RIDLER hasn’t progressed quite as expected since winning the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot as a two-year-old, but he has shaped well in defeat on a few occasions this season, and he’s up to winning a race of this nature.
He had excuses at Newcastle last time, short of room inside the final furlong, and he faces much lesser opposition now. Royal Musketeer has been knocking on the door of late and is next best ahead of Papabella.
