13:30 Beverley – Walter Hartright

A small but select field with just five declared for the Silver Cup where Quietness and WALTER HARTRIGHT are both looking for their fifth win of the season. The latter probably has a little bit better form and should continue to improve. He’ll likely make the running.

13:50 Sandown – Lyndon B

I put up LYNDON B last year for this but he was a non-runner on the day. He comes in here in a similar vein of form and he’s now off a mark of 80. He’s usually reliable, is a course winner and should run his race.

14:05 Beverley – Albasheer & Staincliff

I’d be wary of Clarendon House in this seven-runner field and I like a couple of the others like ALBASHEER and STAINCLIFF. Albasheer wants a strong pace to aim at and looks the one to beat. Staincliff has won a couple of very good races and winners have come from those races. I might even have a reverse forecast.

14:25 Sandown – Tamfana

A win-only option for me now in TAMFANA. She is clearly talented given her 1,000 Guineas run earlier this season, has been highly tried since and should get her head in front now in this Group 3 contest.

14:40 Chester – Percys Lad

A big field and you wonder if all will line up facing this 7f around Chester’s tight bends. PERCY’S LAD is a course winner who is drawn in stall one so everything looks in his favour. You need speed to take advantage of a low draw at Chester and he has it in spades. He looks the likeliest winner. However, Physique has a good draw in box eight and can contest for the lead and make the best of his way home.

15:00 Sandown – Sean

Just the seven runners so each-way backers beware. I quite like SEAN as a win-only project and he looks in decent form. He’s been racing in the Middle East over the summer but can resume winning ways on home soil after two good runs in high-level handicaps.

15:15 Chester – Caius Chorister

Absurde looks on a mission as a prep for the Irish St Leger or Melbourne Cup. He can hit the places after making his seasonal debut a few weeks ago. CAIUS CHORISTER looks the class act in the race and has run really well in Group company this season. Despite disappointing at Goodwood last time, this track will suit her style bettter, especially if she makes the running.

15:35 Sandown – Field of Gold

John and Thady Gosden’s FIELD OF GOLD has taken a little bit of time to come to hand but that’s been the way of it with his two-year-olds recently. The Gosdens have won this race six times and he looks to have been targeted at this contest. In this grade, he sets a very high standard.
