14:15 – Nala Star

NALA STAR finished runner-up on her first three starts, and she may have found the race at Lingfield last time coming too soon, just a week on from a good effort at Bath. She has been freshened up since and, now fitted with headgear, she is given the tentative vote in what doesn’t look the deepest race. Beaujolais Nouveau and Montana Girl look the main threats.

14:45 – Flight Radar

FLIGHT RADAR was picked up for just 1,000 guineas earlier this year, but he looks like a shrewd purchase and is impossible to oppose in this field. He built on the promise of his debut run when opening his account at Redcar last month, doing so in the style of a horse who has even more to offer, and this is an excellent opportunity. Man of A’an will probably win the battle for second out of handicap company.

15:15 – Rain Cap

RAIN CAP stumbled early in the race when below form last time, but he has an excellent course record overall and with the headgear changed again, he’s worth chancing to record a fifth-course success. Alice’s Impact is going the right way and looks like the main threat, while Elettaria can make her presence felt if they go hard up front, too.

15:50 – Doomsday

DOOMSDAY belatedly resumed winning ways in a similar event to this at Musselburgh two starts back, making all of the running and having plenty in hand at the line. He ran respectably under a penalty in a race that wasn’t run to suit over this course and distance three weeks ago, and he looks the one to side with again in an open affair. John Kirkup and Desert Dream are others to consider.

16:25 – Ambassador

AMBASSADOR has been in good order over hurdles lately, winning two of his last four starts, and he looks nicely handicapped back in this sphere, so a chance is taken on him to continue his run of good form back in this sphere. Jamih and Twoforthegutter fought out the finish over 1m4f here three weeks ago, and that pair are likely to be involved once again.

16:55 – Ready Freddie Go

READY FREDDIE GO reacted well to the fitting of first-time blinkers when opening his account for the season at Thirsk last time, a good ride and a drop in class all meaning he had far too much for lesser rivals, and he’s worth a chance to follow up in a race which doesn’t look much stronger, for all that Spring Is Sprung looks a formidable threat. Albegone is well-treated if he can get back on track as he returns to a course where he boasts a good record.

17:30 – Profiteer

PROFITEER went down only to another improving three-year-old at Thirsk last time and might prove the answer to the first division of this 6f handicap, now taking on his elders again. Paul Midgley’s Gis A Sub is feared most ahead of Eldeyaar, who arrives in form from the all-weather and was successful over this course and distance just under a year ago.

18:00 – Rainbow Rain

RAINBOW RAIN is more consistent than the majority at this level, having finished placed on four of his last five starts, and he is taken to get his head back in front deservedly. Highjacked has won and placed second over this course and distance this year and may give Tracy Waggott’s charge the most to do ahead of Malham Tarn Cove.
