14:05 Beverley – Emeralds Pride (Scottish Sun)
Plenty are in with a shout. C&D scorers Midnight Lir, Bella Kopella and Khabib all enter calculations along with in-form trio Glendown, Cavalier Approach and Scoops Ahoy. Topweight Rock Of England (second choice) is also weighted to go well, but Michael Dods’s C&D winner, EMERALDS PRIDE, caught the eye from a wide draw when sixth here last time and edges the vote.
14:50 Yarmouth – Ellaria Sand (Sporting Times)
This looks open for a novice. Newbury winner ELLARIA SAND may have bumped into a Pattern-class horse here last time, and there’s unlikely anything with that potential lurking. Pellitory is the second choice ahead of Castro Aurum and Portnoy, though Watkins represents the previous year’s winning connections and needs checking in the betting.
15:00 Goodwood – Tiriac (Racing Post)
This week’s rain has been positive for TIRIAC, who was progressive on good to soft ground earlier in the campaign. He earns the vote ahead of Rumstar, who was denied a clear run when seventh in the Stewards’ Cup over C&D. Amazonian Dream and Sergeant Wilko are other likely players in a hot little race.
17:20 Goodwood – Temporize (Sportinglife.com)
Topweight TEMPORIZE won the 2m4f handicap at the Glorious meeting here last year and, having run well for a long time in the same race the previous time, is the selection in this less competitive race. Wonderful Eagle goes well fresh and could be the chief threat on his first run since wind surgery, ahead of the 3yo East India Dock.
