13:50 Goodwood – Eavestone

The racing is relatively standard, but ITV are back Sunday with action from Goodwood and Beverley starting here in a maiden for 3yo fillies over 1m 2f. EAVESTONE’s debut last season at Kempton, behind Friendly Soul, would be the best slice of form in this race and she might just have needed her comeback this term when second at Southwell. This is her first try on grass at a tricky track, but she will stay well and have strong claims. Just have to hope there is nothing special in the newcomers.

14:05 Beverley – Scoops Ahoy

Beverley coverage gets under way with this handicap over 5f. Wide open. The draw cuts it down though. The one I’ll chance on is SCOOPS AHOY who got bumped at the start when beaten at this course when last seen. He’s not had much luck recently and has a good draw to work from here for David O’Meara and Ben Robinson. Could sit and pounce late.

14:25 Goodwood – Midnight Gun

Now a handicap over 1m. MIDNIGHT GUN will be hard to beat here for Hamad al Jehani. The former Ed Walker inmate stepped up to 1m 2f at this course last time but just didn’t quite last the trip behind Approval. Back to the distance he won over before that contest at Newmarket and Nottingham he will be hard to stop.

14:40 Beverley – Where’s Jeff

A handicap over 1m2f. WHERE’S JEFF is well drawn and down to a sexy mark of 68 for the Easterby team and Joanna Mason. A strong traveller when he’s on a going day, he started the season winning here off a mark of 72 and he plenty of form at this tricky track. This might be the day he returns to his best.

15:00 Goodwood – Rumstar

Another handicap this time over 6f. RUMSTAR has a huge weight but the Johnny Portman runner loves it here and should go close. He was last seen finishing a fine seventh of 25 in the Stewards’ Cup and was a winner here as a youngster. Has been dropped 1lb which is not much but it all helps. Rob Hornby is on top.

15:35 Goodwood – Metal Merchant

Here’s a handicap over 7f. METAL MERCHANT is creeping up the handicap and might prefer a bit of juice but he brings good form into this. The Spring Mile winner from Newbury has been consistent since for Jack Channon, finishing seventh in the Hunt Cup, and fourth in the International both at Ascot. A mark of 98 is tough, but this is his trip and he ran well here in August last year. David Probert rides.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
