13:50 – Derry Lad
I’m not mad on William Haggas’ Wafei so I will go for an Irish challenger in Derry Lad. He didn’t run well at Galway last time out but I was particularly impressed by his run before that at Epsom. He can bounce back for Kevin Coleman with Tom Marquand on board.
14:25 – Point Lonsdale (NAP)
Willie Mullins has Vauban, who is in good form and should hopefully run better than he did at the Curragh last time. His time off will suit him but Point Lonsdale looks the one to beat for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. He looks a better Flat horse than Vauban and he’s my nap of the day.
15:00 – Camille Pissarro
Camille Pissarro looks worth taking a chance on for Ballydoyle. He has disappointed a couple of times this season but bounced back with a close second behind Babouche at the Curragh last time and that form is not to be overlooked.
15:35 – Asfoora
The swing in the weights and a return to York should suit Asfoora and that could help her to overcome Michael Appleby’s Big Evs. Both look faster than the rest and the Aussie raider can go 2-1 up in their duels this season.
16:10 – Battle Queen
Andrew Balding’s Battle Queen ran well last time at Newbury last time when a staying-on second over a mile. He steps up to this 1m 2f trip now and can improve for the extra distance. This wouldn’t be my strongest fancy today though.
