13:50 York – Task Force

It has taken an absolute age for Task Force to settle down and become easier to manage for jockey Rossa Ryan. However, he finally finished his race strongly over 7f last time at Goodwood. The one mile trip and speedier nature of this venue will suit him.

14:05 Goodwood – Formal

Formal could’ve been called the winner from someway out on her debut 30 days ago when taking care of a few decent sorts with minimal fuss. Can her superstar trainer Sir Michael Stoute unearth another top-notch performer again this season? Let’s hope so.

14:25 York – Champagne Prince

This three-year-old has been very highly tried in the early part of the season and put up his best performance so far at Ascot last time when dropped back into handicap company. Champagne Prince now gets an extra quarter mile to stretch his legs, looks unexposed and is an improver.

14:40 Goodwood – Lead Artist

The Gosdens’ runner Lead Artist could get to dictate from the front and if that’s the case, he may go back-to-back over this course and distance. The Gosdens and jockey Kieran Shoemark need a good one to pop up this year.

15:00 York – Audience

He’s definitely found his mojo this season and with the way the track has been riding this week for front runners, there’s every reason to expect another polished display from this 124-rated thoroughbred. Audience has the ability to go forward and kick on in the straight and that makes it very tough for the others to close him down.

15:35 York – Burdett Road

This dual purpose runner Burdett Road made his seasonal debut at Royal Ascot and blew away the cobwebs for a crack at the richest race of the day. It was a very positive display a month ago as despite getting outpaced, he hit the line strongly, suggesting this 1m 6f stamina test off a mark of 101 is going to suit him.

16:10 York – Summerghand

Summerghand may be getting on in years, but it is a massive vote of confidence that the multiple champion jockey Oisin Murphy decides to hit the sauna and ride him at 8st 8lbs. He had no luck at Ripon last time and that track doesn’t seem to suit him as well as York. He’s also got an ideal low starting number in box six.
