13:50 – Miss Lamai

I really like Karl Burke’s filly Miss Lamai in the 6f Lowther Stakes that opens the card. She was narrowly beaten at this venue early on in her career and wasn’t too far behind her stablemate Leovanni at Royal Ascot. Her win last time at Naas was decent and she looks to be improving.

14:25 – Arizona Blaze

A valuable sales race where Arizona Blaze has some good form at the top table this season. He’s not entirely suited by the conditions of the race and has plenty of weight to carry but he’s the one I’d like to be on.

15:00 – Holloway Boy (each-way) & New Image to win

A mile handicap where Holloway Boy has run some really good races this season without winning… yet. He’s been thereabouts in some extremely competitive handicaps at Royal Ascot and Goodwood and races now off a mark of 106. He doesn’t win often but has to be on the each-way shortlist. New Image could be near his ceiling rating but there may be a little bit of wriggle room as a win-only project.

15:35 – Queen Of The Pride

It would be fitting if Queen Of The Pride could win this contest after her sire Golden Horn was such a good winner of the Dante Stakes back in the day before his Epsom Derby triumph. Oisin Murphy was on board when she won at Haydock twice recently and he has learnt that she can’t hit the front too soon. She sets the standard.

16:10 – Satin

It’s hard to get away from Satin for Irish trainer Jessica Harrington who looks a worthy opponent to the likely favourite, Sea Just In Time, based on ratings. William Haggas’s runner races off a mark of 94 while Satin is rated 104. Ryan Moore has been booked to ride after she returned from injury just eight days ago at Gowran Park. That should have brought her on plenty for this task.

16:45 – Original Outlaw

A 7f Nursery where Original Outlaw looks a player. He was a neck second at Goodwood on his nursery debut on quick ground and the conditions at York should suit him again.

17:20 – Coppull Hall Lane (each-way)

Coppull Hall Lane won on her handicap debut and she can be competitive again off just a 2lb higher mark. Her stablemate Elim is close to the top of the market but she looks a solid each-way player at the prices.
