Lieber Power was a little unlucky last time not to win back-to-back as he found himself a little bit out of his ground after banging his head on the starting stalls. He still ran really well considering that and is a handicapper who is clearly still on the upgrade.
14:25 – Align The Stars
With the staying division looking much of a muchness bar Kyprios, Align The Stars may well be able to stake a claim in that division. He’s looked beaten on numerous occasions last time but kept on repelling all the challenges. They further he goes up in distance, the better he may be.
15:00 – Big Mojo
Big Mojo is another crack juvenile that his excellent handler Michael Appleby has unearthed. He proved up to the task when rattling home over the flying 5 furlongs at Goodwood, looking as if the step up in distance to 6f today is going to be well within his compass. He’s not to be underestimated against similar opposition.
15:35 – Asfoora
The Aussie sprinter was arguably unlucky at Goodwood as she was hampered a couple of times when making her final thrust to the finishing post. Granted a smoother passage then she surely would’ve got the better of Big Evs in that head-bobbing finish. This track again looks tailor-made for Asfoora.
16:10 – Sound Angela
Roger Varian’s filly Sound Angela has already proven herself a solid performer at Listed level and despite having to give away weight to her rivals today – she looks a safe option in against her own sex. We also have the added bonus that she has a particularly decent record when returning off an absence.
16:45 – Realign
The William Haggas-trained two-year-old bumped into a very good looking performer in Shadow of Light on his racecourse debut at Newmarket’s July course. He hung quite badly left-handed late in the day, but should’ve learnt significantly from that initial experience. Realign can take the required step forward to land this £50,000 contest now.
17:20 – Dosman
The form of his recent form at Kempton and Newmarket and even his debut run have all been well advertised. This could prove an ideal stepping stone to the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket in a few weeks as Dosman looks a fascinating contender on his handicap debut.
