14:20 – Streak Lightning

STREAK LIGHTNING is on a long losing run that stretches back to March 2023 but he has fallen to a good mark and has been knocking on the door of late.

Streak Lightning hit the frame on three consecutive starts and shaped as if still in form when only eighth at Thirsk last time in a race that wasn’t run to suit.

There’s a strong pace forecast here which should aid this hold-up performer and he can finally capitalise on a mark which is 8 lb lower than the one he last defied.

14:50 – Leadman

LEADMAN presumably hasn’t been the easiest to train as he was off for 15 months before finishing runner-up at Newcastle in October and has been off for more than nine months since then.

However, Leadman, who has finished runner-up on all three starts, has comfortably the best form on offer and this looks like a good opportunity for the well-bred son of Kingman to get off the mark.

Lattaash is out of a Group 3 winner in Italy who has already produced several winners, and he is in excellent hands with Karl Burke, so he could prove the main danger on debut.

15:20 – Art Design

ART DESIGN was a creditable third in a much stronger event than this on her nursery debut at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago and she can take advantage of the drop in class.

This well-bred filly, who is out of a sister to multiple Group 1 winner Winter, could still do better after only four starts and her trainer William Haggas continues to fire in the winners.

15:55 – Legend Of Kings

LEGEND OF KINGS has offered some encouragement in maiden and novice company, including when fifth here last month, and he remains with the potential to progress.

This slight step up in trip is likely to suit on his handicap debut and the good form of James Ferguson is also in his favour.

Croeso Cymraeg looked unlucky not to finish closer when third at Salisbury last month and ought to give a good account of himself, so he is another to consider.

16:25 – Durham Castle

DURHAM CASTLE shaped well in third on his return to action at Yarmouth in May having been gelded and given a breathing operation since making his debut at Kempton in October.

That Yarmouth maiden was a decent contest and the form Durham Castle showed there is just about the pick on offer.

He remains with the potential to do better after only a couple of starts and he appeals as the one to beat.

16:55 – Alibi Warning

ALIBI WARNING remains a maiden after ten starts but she went close to getting off the mark at Wolverhampton last time when she was beaten only a neck in classified company.

She had also run creditably when third in a similar event on her previous outing and she returns to handicap company on a fair-looking mark.

She gets the vote over Nelson Rose, who was a decisive winner of a Brighton handicap 11 days ago.

17:25 – Due Date

DUE DATE is enjoying a productive year and has already won on three occasions.

He was disappointing at Lingfield last time but was perhaps unsuited by that return to the turf and is better judged on previous efforts on the all-weather.

He can quickly get back on track here.
