17:00 – Riviera Queen
There is no doubt that RIVIERA QUEEN has the best form in this race and she looks the one to beat with her jockey taking off a valuable 7lb; The Mighty Penny has 6l to find with the Harrington filly on their meeting at Galway but she should improve for that run and she could chase the selection home; Inspire Hope won well over hurdles last time but needs more back on the Flat. Strolling should improve plenty for her comeback but the form of her yard is a worry.
17:30 – Kalkanli
A couple of these have good claims based on Curragh maiden form, namely Yes Oui Si, who disappointed last time, and KALKANLI. The latter probably wants further already but can take this if handling the tight track. Smart hurdling mares Redwood Queen and Shecouldbeanything, along with The Ginger Wizard, have chances too in a fair little heat.
18:00 – Polaris Dancer
A tricky looking rated race. This trip is a concern for Dont Do Dramas and Tanazadia. It is an unknown for Sylkie too but her pedigree suggests she’ll stay. Easy ground may not suit Best Law and La Juliana has questions to answer after her last run. Preference is for POLARIS DANCER. He is relatively unexposed, he ran well over this trip at the Curragh and he should go close with his jockey taking off a handy 7lb.
18:30 – Lord Park
A tricky handicap and you could make a case for a few. Thefullbackline has been in decent form recently and should be thereabouts again. Paper Doll and Butterfly Garden could both run well too but a chance is taken on LORD PARK. His yard is in-form, he looked as though he was coming to hand last time out and he’s on a dangerous mark. Boomerang Bill is another one to note upped in trip if the rain stays away.
19:00 – By Your Side
With Stariam and Out On Friday in the field, this should be run at a strong pace. This is a front-runner’s track but they might just set it up for a closer if they take each other on. Master Dunraven will appreciate a strongly run race but it might be worth siding with BY YOUR SIDE.
This is easier than the Cork race he contested last time, he stayed on well over this trip at Chester on his penultimate Flat run and the forecast easier ground will suit. Narlita is another one that could hit the frame if it rains.
19:30 – Royal Eagle (NAP)
The form of her latest Flat handicap run has been franked and she has a fine record at this venue so ROYAL EAGLE (nap) gets the vote to resume winning ways. Busselton and C&D winner Lord Erskine bring solid Galway festival form to the table while the connections of The Banger Doyle love this meeting and he’s been in good heart under both codes this summer.
20:00 – Macinamillion
Having completed a four-timer over hurdles here on Thursday, Rauzan looks well-treated in this discipline and will be a big player if turning out again. The choice, though, is MACINAMILLION who gets 1m6f well and should be fine over 2m around here.
He appeals as one who is still on the right side of the handicapper. C&D winner Jake Peter has been freshened up after a good spell of form over hurdles and shouldn’t be far away while the unexposed Tannery Park is likely to appreciate this longer trip. Last-time-out hurdles winner Grann’s Boy is respected but has stamina to prove.
