Horse Racing Tips: Rory Delargy’s best Saturday ITV Racing bets

Fresh off a 12/1 winner last week, Rory is back with more value picks for Saturday's action and he likes Radio Goo Goo in the 15:20 at Ripon.

13:50 Newbury – Al Aasy

I like Al Aasy and he won well last week at Goodwood last week when the gaps appeared. He’ll need to sit close enough to the pace and in Group 3 company again looks the most likely winner of this 1m 5f contest.

14:05 Newmarket – Eminenecy

This 6f handicap for grey horses can go the way of Eminenecy. He was a good fourth of a rating of 85 earlier in the season and dropped a few lbs in the handicap since then. He wears a visor for the first time and Stuart Williams had a couple winners recently to crack the 1,000 winner’s barrier. He’s top of the list for me.

14:25 Newbury – Reinforce (each-way)

Michaela’s Boy is well handicapped but you’ve to take a lot on trust, given his recent form figures. One who looks a little more reliable is Irish raider Reinforce. He won off a mark of 57 (Navan) and then dead-heated off 65 at Down Royal where the joint ‘winner’ has won again since. He runs off 74 now and Irish handicappers have a good record in UK sprint handicaps. He still looks progressive to me.

14:45 Ripon – Another Baar

He’s drawn 18 of 18 and that should suit Adrian Keatley’s runner Another Baar who is a previous course winner. That’s a big consideration at this venue and having dropped down the handicap this season, he bounced back to form when winning at Doncaster last time. He got a 3lb hike for that but 3lb claimer Oisin Mc Sweeney negates that now.

15:00 Newbury – Lethal Levi

Again, Lethal Levi has been really consistent in really tough handicaps and takes on lesser company here. He races off 98 and now dropped in grade can bounce back with a big run after disappointing at Goodwood last time. He looks the stand-out in this contest. Last year’s winner Spangled Mac shouldn’t be discounted off a 4lb higher mark than when winning this race last year.

15:20 Ripon – Radio Goo Goo (NAP)

The 6f Great St Wilfrid Sprint can go to the model of consistency Radio Goo Goo. She’ll appreciate good ground and the 6f trip is perfect. A stall is stall seven gives her options and as a former course and distance winner, she has a really likeable profile. She can lead from the front and hang on.

15:35 Newbury – English Oak

The Group 2 Hungerford Cup over 7f has just the seven runners entered and my inclination is to give English Oak another chance as he didn’t seem to handle Goodwood too well last time when disappointing in Group company. Witch Hunter won this race last year and may need to find a little more to do it again. Kikkuli could go very close around the head of the market but I’ll stick with English Oak.
