13:50 Newbury – Al Aasy

This looked an interesting contest with Vauban originally entered but that didn’t happen in the end. Al Aasy is clearly the best horse in the race and he’s hard to oppose for William Haggas. He won snugly last time out at Goodwood  after getting the gaps when needed. Not much of a price but he’s the most likely winner of this 1m 5f Group 3 contest.

14:05 Newmarket – Fine Interview

This 6f handicap for grey horses is always a competitive affair despite the lack of star quality. Fine Interview looks worth a chance and delivered at Ffos Las last time. Looks a major contender.

14:25 Newbury – Reinforce (each-way)

Reinforce really catches the eye. He started winning off 57 this season in Ireland and is now rated 74 as he takes his chance across the water. This galloping 5f test will suit and it’s a bullish move for trainer Katy Brown to bring him over.

15:00 Newbury – Lethal Levi (NAP)

I really like Lethal Levi but I’ll be hoping his price drifts a bit. He’s been competing in tough handicaps this season and he’s won at Newbury before – albeit over 6f. He deserves a break in lesser company now. A mark of 98 is more than workable and he can go very close for trainer Karl Burke.

15:20 Ripon – Radio Goo Goo

The 6f Great St Wilfrid Sprint is one of the highlights of the season at Ripon and solid handicapper Radio Goo Goo looks a player. She’s been consistent all season and usually turns up every time to run her race. She’s a course and distance winner off a mark of 83 and despite running off 89 now, she looks to have a solid each-way chance at the prices.

15:35 Newbury – English Oak

I’ve backed English Oak already at 5/1 so if his prices shortens he’ll be slightly less appealing to follow in again on. He impressed when winning the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and while he failed to back that up last time out at in Group company at Goodwood. However, it’s a funny track and I’m willing to forgive him that run and the Lennox Stakes looked a much tougher race than this. He already beaten Tiber Flow – who reopposes –  and this looks a good opportunity for him to get some Group race success.
