17:o0 – Good Earth (each-way)
He looks a big price judged on his previous form over course and distance. Michael Herrington’s runner has dropped down the handicap and is well drawn in stall six. David Allan takes the ride on Good Earth and has a lot in his favour over this 5f trip.
17:30 – Zenzic
Zenzic made no mistake on his handicap debut last time from a very workable mark and doesn’t look over burdened by a 6lb rise to 68 now, despite taking on much better competition. He’s got Hayley Turner in the saddle who is in red-hot form after another silver saddle success at the Shergar Cup last weekend.
18:00 – Zayina
It was only her second run of the current campaign when an excellent third behind Walter Hartright at Yarmouth last time who rubber stamped that form at Chepstow when second to Lieber Power (runs in next race on this card). Zayina can continue to climb the ladder this season and her finishing kick can prove vital in this contest that should be run at an even pace.
18:30 – Lieber Power
Lieber Power had the perfect set up at Chepstow last time and in this smaller field he won’t be too far off the pace again. He looks like he’ll stay much further than this 1m 3f trip. Galactic Charm put up a demolition job at headquarters last time, but he is taking a significant jump up from Class 5 to Class 3 company.
19:00 – Yantarni
He went agonisingly close when stepped up to this distance in the Shergar Cup last weekend with only New Image proving too strong late in the day. Yantarni has previously won over the long sprint distance of 7f, racking up the hat-trick in quick succession. He proved at Ascot that this 1m trip should hold no fears at all.
19:30 – Haymaker
After a very slow start at Windsor last time, Haymaker latched onto the back of the field and was left to come home under hands and heels riding, having gotten no luck in running either. I’m not worried about the quick reappearance just three days later and is a little under the radar.
20:00 – Teumessias Fox
Andrew Balding’s runner was one of plenty who didn’t enjoy a clear passage at the Glorious Goodwood meeting when we last saw him. He was all dressed up with nowhere to go in the 1m 2f Chesterfield Cup and wasn’t given a punishing time at all under Oisin Murphy, who retains the ride. Teumessias Fox will need a massive effort from his triple digit rating (103) but there is no doubting he has plenty of class and quality to take care of this field.
