Historic City holds strong form claims but hasn’t looked straightforward and the preference is for SLANEY SWAGGER, who is a leading player on his best Irish form. Thomas G is third on the list

3yos have a healthy record in this race and the prolific GOOD MORNING ALEX is taken to make it four wins in a row. Lunario is a 4yo on the up and is second choice ahead of the Godolphin topweight Arctic Mountain. Indemnity and Giselles Defence are other interesting contenders.

Having been an eye-catching third from out of the handicap at Haydock recently, ROCK MELODY is taken to capitalise on today’s 4lb lower mark. Fellow mare Iris Dancer is a six-time C&D winner who arrives at the top of her game and she is feared most ahead of Slainte Mhath. Maxi Boy, Rambuso Creek, Impressor and Gentle Ellen are others who can run well.
20:00 – Mix De Gris
The Lucinda Russell-trained MIX DE GRIS is bred to be suited by the step up in trip on handicap debut and he gets the nod ahead of two-time course winner Lunacy, who ran well at Ayr on Saturday. Sycamore Gap, Desert Quest, National Question and Reveal all arrive on the back of good runs.
