Four-time course winner RAIN CAP ran an encouraging race at Hamilton last month and earns the vote ahead of last year’s winner Rum Runner, who arrives in good form. Doomsday and Coconut Bay could also be involved.
16:15 Ffos Las – Forever A Diamond (Postdata)
Yet to make any significant further progress since clinging on by a short head to open account at Wolverhampton (7f, AW) in April, but didn’t get a clear run when fourth in stronger race than this at Newbury (7f, good to firm) two starts ago and might have been stretched by 1m when below form on Polytrack last time; FOREVER A DIAMOND can make her presence felt.
19:47 Chelmsford – Mayo County (Spotlight)
Provided the widest draw proves no hindrance, Maverick Style looks a major player. MAYO COUNTY is an interesting alternative with progress possible returned to AW, while Heerathetrack (second choice) holds solid claims on his course form this year. Several others also have possibilities in a fairly open contest.

TUFF DAYS has improved since the application of cheekpieces; fourth off 86 in a handicap chase at Downpatrick and then beaten 5.25L off 89 over hurdles; fell two out when holding every chance at Wexford in another handicap chase on penultimate start (Agirlcalledchloe third); run may have come too soon last time out; good chance if putting in a clear round.
