14:20 – Firebird

This assignment should be straightforward for FIREBIRD as long as it doesn’t come too soon after her runaway Cork maiden victory. However, she can run below that level and still win. Matter Of Fact can chase the selection home.

14:50 – Mehmar

Having shown useful form as a 2yo, MEHMAR did well to win a Navan maiden on return after a long absence and there should be more to come. Universally beat Never Shout Never, Collective Power and Gordon Bennett last time but is much worse off at the weights. Moltophino hung left when second over C&D last time and has a chance if more professional today.

15:20 – Grand Citadel

Typically open but it could pay to side with the 3yo GRAND CITADEL, who has been consistent in defeat lately over various trips and could have more to give despite a 6lb rise. Platino Bianco wasn’t far behind the selection at Navan last time and can go well. Hero Of The Hour, Viva Voce and Elliott.

15:50 – Not Forgotten

The consistent NOT FORGOTTEN is forgiven a below-par effort last time and should get plenty of pace to run at so can cope with the drop to this trip. Distillate was flying at the finish over 5f at Navan last time and coming back up to this trip will help, though she has a poor draw. Zaragoza is of interest after winning on handicap bow last time, while Badda Bing could run well on handicap debut.

16:20 – Colugo

The 78-rated Eternal Reign holds a clear chance but is not certain to cope with a pair of once-raced fillies. COLUGO was a huge price when showing distinct promise at Gowran and is slightly preferred to Chessalla who made a bright start to her career in a race won by a short-priced stablemate. And Yet It Moves is a potentially interesting newcomer.

16:50 – Heavens Gate (NAP)

Third in two top juvenile races in Britain, HEAVENS GATE (nap) should be too good for these rivals despite a possible preference for further than this. Her Curragh maiden win gives her an edge over Grande Marques who could reach the money if settling better than she did in a Group 2 race last time. Coventry Stakes also-ran Midnight Strike may give the selection most to do. The experienced and reliable Violet Love and Morning Vietnam are others who could feature.

17:20 – Apercu

A case could be made for all three last-time-out winners, Hokusai, Doctor Grace and Tachos. However, the vote goes to APERCU who went very close at Down Royal and may confirm her narrow superiority in the rematch with Aird.
