I’ve landed on TEMPORIZE for Syd Hosie. He’s 10lbs higher than when winning this race last year but he’s held his form since. He won at Newbury last time out and he’s only gone up 3lbs for that victory. The fact he’s a course and distance winner is a major positive. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t finish in the places at least.
14.25 – Socialite (each way)
There’s a good mix of horses trying different trips at the moment so I’ve landed on SOCIALITE for Charles Hills. Tom Marquand rode him for the first time when finishing fourth at Newmarket last month and I’m hoping he can settle him on Friday. He won on his first two starts and he’s beaten the reopposing Kings Gamble before. If he settles quickly, he’s a solid each-way shout.
15.00 – Classic (each-way)
CLASSIC disappointed at Sandown last time out but I’m putting that down to the soft ground. He’s going to get better ground at Goodwood on Friday and that will suit him. He’s running off a mark of 93 which is more than workable. Richard Hannon has had plenty of success at this track so he’s a great each-way bet.
15.35 – Big Evs
BIG EVS finished third behind Asfoora in the King Charles at Royal Ascot but I fancy him to reverse the form. Big Evs tried to do it all that day and he got caught. I’m hoping he’ll have too much pace for these.
